Sunday Celebration
10:25 a.m. – October 19, 2014
WELCOME TO FRIENDSHIP COMMUNITY CHURCH!
If you’re visiting for the first time, please relax and know we are seeking to
know God better just like you. We hope you experience some friendly smiles
and handshakes today! We invite you to take the next step to deepen your
friendships by attending a life group on Sunday or Wednesday night. You’ll
make new friends and experience a deeper level of fellowship! Friendship
Life Groups are a place where friendships can grow and learning and serving
together becomes a joy!
FCC is committed to helping parents focus on worship each Sunday by
providing a friendly and caring NURSERY for children ages 3 and under.
The Nursery is located out the east door just past the kitchen. Children ages
4 through 4th Grade are invited to FRIENDSHIP COMPANY during the
message this morning!
Everyone is invited to enjoy refreshments and conversation before the
service today!
Verse of the Month
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and
gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
Thought
We are new creations in Christ with the power of the Holy Spirit in us so we
can say no to sin.
What’s Happening?
SUNDAY NIGHT FRENDSHIP LIFE GROUP, meets 6:30 -7:30 pm at the church
in the Friendship Company Room. Join us as we go through the book of
Galatians and be encouraged by the gospel of grace and the fruits of the Spirit.

inheritance." This study will be on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. beginning

LEVI WIELENGA HAS ACCEPTED THE NOMINATION TO THE LEADERSHIP
TEAM. If there are no biblical objections from the congregation Levi will be
installed on a Sunday to be announced. We thank Paul Thompson, whose three
year term has ended, for his faithful service to God and Friendship Community.
PRAYER SUMMIT: WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT PRAYER AND
SEEKING GOD'S FACE? If yes then attend the Prayer Summit held Friday 7-9
pm October 24 and Saturday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm October 25. If you can’t attend
both days just come to one. Come and be inspired and encouraged in your
prayer life. The keynote speaker, Rev. Moses Chung, says, “Prayer is as vital as
the air we breathe. If we don’t pray, we die—spiritually.” Moses was raised as a
part of the Korean prayer tradition and is currently serving as Director of Home
Missions for the Christian Reformed Church. Breakout sessions will
include: “Listening Prayer” by Tony De La Rosa, Rejoice Community Church in Le
Mars; “Prayer Saturated Churches” by Barb Hibma, Classis Heartland Prayer
Coordinator; and “Praying for Your Pastor” by Shawn Lohry of Yasha Ministries in
Sioux City. The cost is $10. Please fill out a registration form and give it to
Shaelee or put it in the basket by the church office. Contact Shaelee or Verlyn to
car pool to the event. Thanks!
SUPPORT THE S.O.B.E.R. PROJECT: Deb Goering leads a Monday night
S.O.B.E.R. group at Dismiss Charities. S.O.B.E.R. project t-shirts and car decals
are for sale if you would like to purchase them. If you would like to lead a group or
need information, contact Deb Goering at 712.577.3118.
VOTE YOUR BIBLICAL VALUES on Tuesday, November 4. The upcoming
midterm elections are critical. Imagine the impact Americans of faith can have on
the future of our nation, the character of its leadership, and the health of its
families if we all applied biblical principles to every aspect of our lives – including
committing to voting wisely.
