Acts 20:23-24 23 Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide
me. 24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my
course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the
grace of God. (KJV)
To all Bishops, Overseers, Elders, Eldresses, Evangelists, Missionaries, Trustees,
Members, and Friends:
Dear Members,
Paul says he is commissioned to testify concerning the gospel of the grace of God. We also have
a testimony of the grace of God. And like Paul, we too have a commission to spread and share
the gospel of our Lord. As the called out people of God we have been given a very important
task. That task is to spread the Gospel throughout the land. Ours is a daunting task, but
commissioned by God we realize it is an achievable task.
In our attempts to spread the Gospel, we must carry it into enemy territory. Be assured Satan
will do all in his power to impede and prevent the spreading of God’s word. We cannot allow
Satan to stop us for men and women stand in need of the saving power of God’s word.
The Gospel is “Good News,” but Good News is no good if it does not arrive in time. People are
waiting on the timely arrival of God’s word. Paul also says in verse 24, “None of these things
move me.” This was a reference to the afflictions, bonds, and hardships he would have to
endure. In spite of this opposition, Paul remained steadfast and faithful to what God had called
him to do.
In these modern times, God has given us many avenues to advance the Gospel. I call upon and
challenge each of you to do your part in advancing the gospel of our Lord in your city, church,
and neighborhood. Let’s reclaim the territory the Devil has stolen from us. Now is the time to
advance and tear down his strongholds.
The words of the early saints still echo in my ear. We are soldiers, in the army. We got to fight
although we have to cry. We’ve got to hold up the blood stained banner, we’ve got to hold it up
until we die. The command is clear. Go ye therefore into all the world….Advance, Advance,
Advance.
Your servant,
Bishop C. C. Berry, Jr.
