PROJECT POST (BOTSWANA COMBINATION
PREVENTION PROJECT-BCPP)
24-36 MONTHS CONTRACT
VACANCY: PRINCIPAL HEALTH OFFICER II –
LOGISTICS
Applications are invited from suitably qualified
candidates for the above position at the Ministry
of Health, Department of HIV/AIDS Prevention and
Care, tenable in Ministry Headquarters.
SALARY SCALE:
D3 (P190, 104-209,868)
BENEFITS:
Gratuity at the rate of 25% at the end of contract.
LEAVE:
30 working days per annum
QUALIFICATIONS: Degree/Diploma in
Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing
and supply or any related field.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of eight (8) years work
experience preferably in supply chain or related
field two (2) years of which must have been served
at D4 level in Government or its equivalent in the
Parastatal or Private Sector.
Familiarity with Government of Botswana or
development partner procurement and distribution
system including previous collaboration with
Central Medical Stores would be an added
advantage.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To coordinate the commodity forecast,
procurement and distribution of BCPP supplies and
equipment in the 30 Study communities.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
1.
Spearheads all procurement processes for
BCPP supplies and equipment to expedite
delivery.
2.
Assesses the methods and frequency
of forecasting critical BCPP supplies
requirements and identify any areas needing
strengthening to ensure regular and
continuous supply.
3.
Strengthens supply chain and catalyses
timely action to action to ensure regular,
timely and adequate supply of critical
BCPP supplies throughout the 30 study
communities.
4.
Assesses storage of BCPP supplies and
equipment at district level and make
corrective recommendations where
necessary.
5.
Spearheads capacity building of officers
responsible for procurement/ordering of
BCPP supplies and equipment at all BCPP
dedicated communities.
6.
Conducts support visits to BCPP sites to
provide mentoring, technical support and
monitors reporting on supply chain to
prevent stock-outs/overstocking of critical
BCPP supplies.
7.
Mentors and supports BCPP sites Health
Care Assistant to manage logistics issues,
including but not limited tom stock,
commodity forecasts, storage, maintenance,
reporting and record keeping.
8.
Monitors inventory, availability and
accessibility of all BCPP supplies in the 30
communities and regularly liaises with
Central Medical Stores to counter check the
balances.
9.
Undertakes any other related duties as may
be assigned by Management.

VACANCY: ASSISTANT EMERGENCY CARE
TECHNICIAN

candidates for the above position in the Ministry of
Health, Department of Clinical Services, tenable at
Palapye, Selibe-Phikwe and Lobatse.
SALARY SCALE:
C4/3 (P64, 632- P95, 748)
BENEFITS:

(b) Contributory pension (Government contributes
15% and employee contributes 5% of salary).
LEAVE:

QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in Emergency Medical
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of training in
Emergency Care Technician course. Possession of a
class B drivers’ license will be an added advantage.
SALARY: D1 (P251, 376 – P277, 524) per annum.

QUALIFICATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Public

Government or its equivalent in the Parastatal or

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide
leadership on the management, organization,
coordination and direction of the implementation
of Ministry’s industrial relations.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

comprehensive intermediate and limited advanced
emergency medical care to the sick and injured
people at their homes, accident scenes, work
places, health facilities and other places during
transportation for definitive care.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Attends emergency medical requests as they
arise, and renders intermediate and limited
emergency medical care assistance to injured
and sick patients as required.

Adheres to clinical practice protocol for the
level of practice as may be prescribed by
the regulating professional body to assist
patients with various conditions.
3.
Performs a structured primary survey and
secondary and distinguishes between time
critical and non-time critical patients.
4.
Provides basic and intermediate trauma life
support to victims of accidents and injuries
in the most appropriate, proficient and
reasonable manner to contribute to the
reduction of mortality and morbidity.
5.
Collects information and accurately
document using appropriate terminology
when assisting patients.
6.
Complies with infection control regulations
and standards.
7.
Demonstrates the competent understanding
of rationale and protocol of medications for
the level of clinical practice.

Enforces and/ or monitors compliance
or adherence by Emergency Medical
Technicians to prescribed policies,
guidelines, protocols, regulations on infection
control, safety, emergency medical dispatch,
