What’s New at School???
Conroe ISD Police Department is sponsoring its 11th annual
Coats for Kids Drive for the children of CISD. From October
st

1 through October 31 , schools will be collecting used, goodquality coats/jackets/sweaters. There is a large container in
our front office where the clothing may be placed. The police
department will clean and distribute all donated items. Last
year's drive provided CISD students with over 1,200 warm
articles of clothing.
Thanks in advance for helping the children of CISD stay warm
this winter!
Academic Sports Fest
The faculty of Cryar Intermediate School provides opportunities to
involve all parents with their children’s educational process through
our parent night activities, such as this month’s Academic Sports
Fest.

in learning activities and games using
the same skills that students are
expected to learn and use in their classes

An evening filled with games, fun, and FREE food
WHEN:

Beginning October 15 the Cryar
Cash Store will be held each
Wednesday and Thursday in the
cafeteria from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m.
Come on down and spend your Cryar
Cash!
Earning Cryar Cash is really quite
easy. Every homeroom has a list of
ways to be a BIG wage earner. There
is everything on the list from doing a
1.good deed for $20.00 to being on the
“E” honor roll per 9 weeks for
$100.00. So. . . come on, Cryar Cats,
let’s earn those Cryar bucks so you
can be a BIG spender of Cryar Cash!
All students must be accompanied by an adult.
Parents, come and enjoy an evening of learning with your
Cryar student and get some tips on how to help your child
succeed.
Nominations for Gifted & Talented Screening
Parents wishing to have their child screened for
G/T classes should notify the homeroom teacher
as soon as possible. All nominees will be
screened between the dates of October 1st and
December 19th.
CHOIR NEWS
GROUP PICTURES AND INDIVIDUAL RETAKES
*The CISD solo/ensemble contest will be held at
Vogel Intermediate on Saturday, October 25th.
Parents are responsible for transporting their
children to and from the contest. Times TBA.
*CISD is presenting its annual fall, feederschool choir concert at Conroe High School on
Thursday, October 30th. The concert will
feature the intermediate school choirs from
Bozman, Cryar, and Travis. Also performing
will be the junior high choirs from Peet and
Washington, as well as the choirs from Conroe
High School.
Please mark your calendar and make plans to
attend. Time TBA.

Parents, if you did not wish to purchase a package of the
individual pictures on Sept. 17th, you may send money
on Oct. 29th and purchase the picture package of your
choice. Your child may pick up a money envelope in the
front office.
Red Ribbon Drug-Free Week
October is National Drug Awareness Month,
and Cryar will be celebating Red Ribbon
Drug-Free Week from October 27th – 31st.
This year’s theme is: #bedrugfree
Various school clothing can be worn to
highlight the importance of staying drug free.
Parents, this is a great time for you to talk with
your students concerning peer pressure and
drugs. It is never too early to start these
discussions because the more informed
children are, the better choices they can
make.
