Join us this Friday for the Patch Party at 6:30 PM. This is our traditional closing of the Patch

Daylight Saving Time ends next Sunday. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour before
going to bed Saturday night.
Our Missionaries:
Matt Williams Update: A lot has changed in Matt’s life in the past few months. Most importantly
he was married in August. He and his wife Jenny will continue working with CRU (formerly
Campus Crusade for Christ). Matt has relocated from California to Indianapolis where he and
Jenny will serve college students at Butler and a campus of Indiana University. Please pray
for the Williams family as they begin this ministry together.
Reyes Visit: Ben and Jenny Reyes will be visiting again on Sunday, November 16. Ben, born
in Puerto Rico, and Jenny, born in Brazil, have ministered in Brazil and Paraguay since their
marriage in 1989. They have two adult sons, Phillipe and Mathias. In the past eight years they
have been involved in training missionaries for national and international missions. Today they
use their skills, experience, and studies done at Asbury Seminary. Ben and Jenny will need
overnight accommodations on November 15. If you can help or have questions, please contact
Dan Christmus at 754-6675.
The Angel Tree Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 13. There are many
areas where assistance is needed to support this ministry. Please visit the church website at
www.neumc.com and sign up for an area you can help support. Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree
program is the only nationwide effort that specifically reaches out to hundreds of thousands of
innocent children who carry the heavy burden of their parents’ incarceration throughout the
year. At Christmastime, Angel Tree introduces prisoners and their children to Jesus and brings
healing and restoration to families destroyed by crime. For more information or questions,
please contact Linda Wargel at 786-9992.
Grace Happens Here at NEUMC. The Grace small group study group is asking for the help
of NEUMC to collect canned and boxed food along with your change during the month of
October for God’s Storehouse. We will be collecting any change you can spare for this worthy
cause after both services. God's Storehouse is a place for those living in Northeast Columbia
to go when they are in need of help. God Storehouse helps the people with food, clothing, etc.

MEMORY VERSE
Welcome Guests and Members!
Hebrews 5:13-14 (NIV)
We are so glad that you are here and hope
you feel at home as you join us in worship.
We’d like to get to know you better.
Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant,
is not acquainted with the teaching about
righteousness. But solid food is for the mature,
who by constant use have trained themselves
to distinguish good from evil.

Hebrews 5:11-6:3 (NIV)
11 We have much to say about this, but it is
hard to explain because you are slow to learn.
12 In fact, though by this time you ought to
be teachers, you need someone to teach you
the elementary truths of God's word all over
again. You need milk, not solid food!
13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an
infant, is not acquainted with the teaching
about righteousness.
14 But solid food is for the mature, who by
constant use have trained themselves to
distinguish good from evil.
6:1 Therefore let us leave the elementary
teachings about Christ and go on to maturity,
not laying again the foundation of repentance
from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God,
2 instruction about baptisms, the laying on of
hands, the resurrection of the dead, and
eternal judgment.
3 And God permitting, we will do so.

FAMILY MINISTRY MINUTE
"There are no shortcuts to discipleship. To
reach the broken you must journey through
the valley of brokenness...The people on
your job and in your neighborhood need to see
you dealing with the same problems they
encounter but with the joy and strength of the
Lord..." Those words by Tommy Tenney remind
us to be clear about our goals when dealing
with our brokenness.
