Dear Families
This Sunday we hear Jesus tell the parable of the 10 bridesmaids. 5 of the bridesmaids were
wise and carried extra oil for their lamps, while the other 5 were foolish and only had enough oil
for a certain period of time.
Jesus is teaching us to be alert and ready for we do not know the day of His return.
A critical part of being ready is to be prepared for the possibility of a long delay in Jesus‘ return
because the exact time of Christ's return is unknown, constant watchfulness is demanded.
Thank you to our PTFA and teachers for organising the two discos last Friday. Our students had
a great time.
For those who were unable to attend Café Stella on Wednesday morning, the powerpoint I
shared about National Standards is available on the 1st page of the school website
www.stellamaris.school.nz

Stella Maris Catholic Primary School
Our Bishop often reminds us that as a Catholic School our primary goal is
“above all a question of communicating Christ, of helping to form Christ in the lives of others.”
Paul says: “Be imitators of God, walk in love; walk in goodness; walk in meekness”. “Be merciful –
says Paul – forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ. Be, then, imitators of God and
walk in love, that is, walk in mercy, forgiveness, love. And these are the words of a child of light”.
Reflection for this week: Are we helping our children to do this?

A Request
Could you please check at home for Conor O’Shea’s
photo album of his overseas trip. It is approximately A5
size and is multicoloured. It is full of photographs and
tickets, momentous of his time spent in Ireland, Europe
and North America. It went missing during the last week
of school when the Seniors were focussing on the Pirates
of the Curry Bean. The class have looked hard for it and
we would all be happy if it could be returned.
