Greetings From Colleen
As I prepare this newsletter, the sky is changing from a beautiful sunrise to a sky full of clouds.
Clouds that we are praying has rain in them for our parched earth. Rain will give us just one
more thing to be thankful for this month of November.

November will be a busy month here at your center.
A change is taking place since Sharon Harmond has been unable to do her class, due to illness.
The Arthritis Exercise Class on Monday and Thursday at 10:15 AM will be lead by Colleen
along with an exercise video.

We are having an evening fashion show on November 5th at 5:30PM to 7:00PM. The cost is
$5.00 at the door. We will be serving wine/cheese and coffee/cake.
The fashions are by JOCKEY and our hostess will be Margee Lennard. Models will be seniors
from the senior center. This is a fund raiser with 25% of all sales going to the Solvang Center.

November 19th there will be NO Bingo due to the “Knitting Pearls Boutique” that starts at
4:00PM to 6:00PM. This is an exciting event that happens before the Senior Dinner every year,
so come, shop and get some fantastic handmade items to give to family and friends.

Our guest Dinner Chef November 19th will be Union Bank Los Olivos Branch. Sign up and
enjoy all the fun and great food.

ATTENTION ALL PAID UP MEMBERS if you haven’t signed up for the Christmas Luncheon at the Alisal, come in, sign up and pay the $15.00 for your reservation. The luncheon is
at 11:30 AM with a few silent auction items going to a few lucky bidders. I am so excited that
we will get to attend the Alisal Guest Ranch again. What a treat.

The Solvang Senior Center will be closed Thursday November 27th and Friday the 28th so
we will be open again on December 1st.

You may get a telephone call from a center volunteer asking for a birth date or your physical
address if we have just your PO Box. We are updating our computer to reflect information
for emergency/evacuation purposes.
A giant thank you and recognition to our
friends from the Cattlewomen's Association that cooked and served all 82 of us a
delicious Tri-Tip dinner October 15th.
Mission Statement: The Solvang Senior Center strives to preserve the health and independence of community
seniors by offering nutritious meals, physical activities, social interaction and learning opportunities.
