Product description
The host-based multiradio module series ODIN-W16 is ready-toembed for demanding industrial, vehicle, medical, and security
applications.
of customer end-devices, since the modules have pre-calibrated
radio parameters and MAC address stored in on-board EEPROM.
The module series is in a castellated package improving visual
inspection of end-devices. The modules vary in their implementation of antennas and connectors; for instance, ODIN-W160 has a
u.fl antenna connector for a wide selection of certified antennas.
The ODIN-W16 compact 15 x 22 x 3 mm modules support
dual-band IEEE 802.11 a, b, g, n on 2.4 GHz and 5GHz channels
36-165 (U-NII bands 1, 2, 2e, 3), as well as dual-mode Bluetooth
v4.0, which includes Bluetooth low energy and Classic Bluetooth
(Bluetooth “Smart Ready”).
The series provide modular radio type approvals for Europe, US
and Canada (R&TTE, FCC, IC), EMC certification, and Bluetooth qualification. Additionally, the modules support ad-hoc,
infrastructure and AP mode as well as security features WEP64,
WEP128, WPA, WPA2, and TKIP & AES hardware accelerator.
The host-based modules are designed for a long life cycle and
ultra-low power consumption. Together with the open-source
Linux host driver, the modules minimizes development time to
implement short range wireless communications in end-devices.
Also, no trimming or tuning is required during manufacturing
The operating temperature range is –40°C to +85°C.
