We welcome all new students to our JETS family!
What a fantastic term we have had at JETS!
What a fun filled term we had at JETS in term 3. We started out with our
fundraiser “Onesie Funsie Day in all classes and we all had the best time!!
Joy Starwarz (Candy’s mum) who runs Karaoke at Woodvale Tavern asked us
to be Judges for the latest Karaoke Comp. Ros, Charley and Alyssia were
amazed at the talent in our Northern Suburbs.
Macy—Kingsway Singing Comp 2nd place. Macy has also
recorded her first song “My written Song”.
Caitlyn—recorded her first song “Best
Friends
Sian—Kidzucate Kid represented Australia
At the Youth for Human Rights Summit in
Brussels and then accepted the Youth leader
medal at the Pride of Australia!! Sian is a
true inspiration to all who know her and we
are so blessed to have her at JETS!
Candy and Katie—Were the overall highest score of any duets/groups in the
eisteddfod and Talei from City of Joondalup came to JETS to hand the girls their
Cheque! Katie has also had a call back for “13 The Musical” and
we wish her all the best with the follow up audition.
Reece and Jacob—West Coast Festival of Dance first place in
musical Theatre Section. Both these young men have excelled
in all they do at JETS and we love their spirit and stage presence. Well done Timon and Pumba.

We welcome Sebastian Steven to our staff as the newest
student teacher in the hip hop department inspiring the mini
Joondalup Eisteddfod was a great opportunity for singing students to be a
part of a big competition and we were so proud of all students involved.

Storm the stage is a Musical Theatre competition where students need to act, sing and dance
in order to compete
Reece and Jacob Duet 1st and Indigo Solo 2nd
Hip Hop Competition Battlegrounds Perth—Jets Junior Crew 2nd and
Jets Open Crew 3rd. The Open Crew went to Melbourne to represent
Perth in the Australasian Battle. Congratulations to both Crews and we
are so proud of you all.

was getting stuck in our
apartment lift for 1.5hrs!!!

IMPORTANT HIP HOP NOTICE
We Have scheduled times where we will not be in our usual rooms upstairs (West Perth FC need rooms) I will
try and give you notice in advance for these dates. There have been days (as you know) where the Arena
have moved us without prior notice and may happen in the future. I do apologize for these days but please
be advised that if we are not in our usual rooms we will be in the aerobics room near the main entrance.

TERM 3 MEMORIES
END OF YEAR PERFORMANCE
Sunday the 30th November at the Prendiville ( Catholic High School) Performing Arts Centre. Please put this
date in your diary! There will be a tech run call at 11am for all students to become familiar with the space
and have a technical run through. Show is 2pm to 5pm doors open at 1.30pm.
One Performance only and tickets will go on sale Friday 24th Oct (term 4 week 2). Ticket Sales on Fridays
this term for you to choose your seating. Alternatively you send order form in with payment or online receipt
payment numbers and we will allocate seating for you. All tickets $35 no concessions and NO REFUNDS.
IF YOU COMITT TO THE END OF YEAR SHOW PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU WILL BE HERE AS
RECASTING A SHOW OF THIS SIZE IS EXCEPTIONALLY DIFFICULT!
Please note that show may go over time as we have so much talent to showcase!
There will be a complete cast run through for all Sound of Music cast members on Tuesday the 25th Nov and
THIS IS COMPULSORY. It will be from 4pm to 8pm for all Mini Jets, Junior Jets and Jet Setters who are in
Sound of Music. As this is the only time the whole cast will see it all as a complete performance it is compulsory for all to attend. This will be a dress rehearsal with costumes but not makeup.
Costumes will come home week 3 and 4 once hire fee has been paid. Please have costumes ironed and ready
to go for the dress rehearsal.
Rent cast will have dress rehearsal in class time week 5. All hip hop will have dress rehearsal week 5 also to
make sure all costumes are ready and acceptable.





FEES INFO
(strictly no part payments or you will incur a 10% admin fee)
Invoices out week 1 payment due by no later than week 3 and late payments will incur a 10% late fee in
week 4 and 5% each week thereafter of outstanding balance until payment received
Payment of the term fee is for the full term and credit will only be given for student missing classes due to
a medical necessity. Places are secured with full payment of term and credit will no longer be given for
holidays.
If you will not be returning the following term unless notice is given you will be charged for a full term.
Please contact JETS if you are not returning or a full terms fees will be imposed. Places are limited at
Jets and we have had students on waiting lists that could have taken up a few of the places in the past.
With internet payments please put students name as it makes it difficult to figure out who the payment is
from.
No weekly payments are accepted
UNIFORMS
Parents please assist me to maintain a high standard of dress ethics. All students to be in Black clothing with closed
shoes. Please assist me to keep the kids safe by sending them in joggers not thongs or sandals. Students do need to be
in black and JETS does have T-Shirts with logos available. Dance pants are for sale with silver bands and these will
also be used for Hip Hop costuming for end of year performance so get in early and get plenty of use out of them.

BOTTLES, dance pants, t-shirts, headbands and scrunchies, Bloch Style shoes and 2nd hand uniforms
BEHAVIOUR POLICY
JETS has a three warning policy with regards to in-class behaviour. Students will be given two warnings and
on the third warning a letter will be sent home inviting a discussion on the behaviour. We aim to have a fun
safe environment here at Jets and need to maintain a high standard of respect towards each other. No form of
misbehaviour or bullying will be tolerated. On the other hand if a student is not happy due to
another please approach me as soon as it happens so it can be resolved. Parents thank you for your support in
keeping Jets a fun and happy place to be.
COLLECTING CHILDREN AFTER CLASS
Jets Duty of Care legally ceases at the end of class time and whilst we try to make sure all students are safe I cannot
have eyes in over 30 directions. Ultimately it is still the responsibility of parents/carers. If someone else is going to collect your child please let me know….because I care.

*Student had a coughing fit in one class and another student then interrupts her saying "look if you're dying, can you
please die quietly?"
*The ALS ice bucket challenge I was nominated for so I had the Mini Jets sing “Let it Go” from frozen and at the end I
was asked if I like being dominated???
*Said to an adult student “You gonna be a nun “ to which the very quick reply was pointing to necklace “look I come
equipped with my own cross”.
* working on Frozen tableau freeze frames and I said don't move.... One student very seriously asked “Can we blink”?
* Discussing Sound of Music one student asked anther what character they wanted to be. The student replied “oh oh I
want to be little red riding hood!”
* working on characterisation I asked about the characterisations and personalities of 7 dwarves. I asked what character
bashful was to which the reply was…”very clumsy bashing into things”.
*one student talking about wanting to be Like borat the other students questioned…”is that polish!”
* student responded very quickly when asked if she had a c rush on Tom. “No I don't have a crush on tom! He's just my
personal playground! Like a Slide and a swing”
* discussion about working at subway and asking what they make an hour there … Answer was….”Footlongs!”
* during a scene…..”Wait my tingly tiger receptors are saying he is that way!!!”
*Superhero scenes:1. masks on and one student says wow your eyes look really blue in that mask. Blue eyed student
takes mask off to have a look at her eyes!!! 2. Water squirting ninja squirrel and base drop Betty ! 3. student wanted to
be FatMan but Ros doesn't like the word Fat so suggested Thinly. Challenged Man. During the scene the student announced that he was Slightly challenged man!
*student one ...I like my men like I like my mosaics... Intricate. Students two I like my men like I like my Mosaics in
hundreds of pieces and stuck to a board
*Xmas in July scene and dialogue is ho ho ho one ho each states Paul. Ros says ho doing digging and lifting action to
show in her mind using a hoe. Paul says no the hoe goes down not up!!!
*Student intro...Hi I'm 16...yeah sorry said my age but it's a fresh age.... I'm 16 1/2 actually no I'm 16 and 6 months.
*Student 1-I like the blues... Student 2 Yah I didn't peg you for a blues sorta gal ( she is wearing blue) well except your
top!
*Doing activity to become a character instantly. Say your name then step into character. “hello I'm Darth Maddie!”
* student confusing us all …”She's dating my friend and well she is my friend and well oh yes we are all friends”.
* Friday night ritual after hip hop Crew...Aren’t you going to Maccas? Nah one of out three illuminati (triangle sign) is not
going and then it will just be two of us and that's a line not a triangle!!!
*Dante singing part of your world Moving around on what do you call them (pointing to feet) street!!!!!
* Discussing biology and totally shocked the question was…..”Fish can have babies?"
*Doing an activity where you step into another character and say the name of it. "Hello I'm darth Maddie"

As the venue only Holds 300 you cannot reserve seating. Tickets will be issued once
payment is made. Please get your tickets ASAP to avoid disappointment as we will more
than likely be sold out. I cannot do anything once the tickets have been exhausted.

If you require disabled access seating you need to let me know by week 2 before the
tickets go on sale so we can reserve the seating. Once tickets go on sale we may not
have disabled access seats available.
