CREATIVITY WEEK- 2014
Dear Parent,
In an endeavour to provide our students with the skills related to the
world of play, work and culture, we are celebrating “CREATIVITY
WEEK”- a week of activities, from 10.11.14 to 15.11.14. During this
week, every student of Primary School will participate in different
activities. You are requested to encourage your ward, help him to
participate and send the required material for the activities.
The schedule for the Creativity week for Class V will be as follows:

1(a) HAWAN
1 (b) CREATION WITH ANGLES
 Individual Activity
 Students will make a composition by cutting and pasting
coloured paper strips on A-3 size pastel sheet showing different
types of angles only.
 They will also show the colour key for the types of angles used
in their composition for e.g. acute angle- red, obtuse angle—
green and so on.
 All the required material--A-3 size pastel sheet, coloured paper
strips, glue, scissors, and scale will be brought by the students.
 Duration :-1 ½ hrs.
2 (a)

LEARNING BY DOING
This is a science experimental setup activity.
4 participants from each class will be selected.
The preliminary round will be held on 5.11.14

LIFE CYCLES IN NATURE Students will depict life cycles of plants & animals using any
recyclable or eco-friendly material of their choice.
 All the required materials will be brought by the students.
Note: Students participating in “Learning by Doing ” will not
participate in “Life cycles in nature .”

1 (a) KABAAD SE JUGAAD  Individual activity.
 Students will make means of transport using waste material.
 The students will bring all the required material.
 Duration—1 ½ hrs
1 (b) QUIZ Theme- The Five States- Rajasthan, Kerala, Manipur, Himachal
Pradesh and Assam
 Four students will be selected from each section by the class
teacher.
 The preliminary round will be held on 5.11.14
Note: Students participating in ”Quiz” will not participate in “Kabaad
Se Jugaad”
2 WORLI PAINTING  Students will make Worli painting by using A 4 size white
pastel sheet for background and use either black or brown
coloured sheets for Worli figures.
 If they are using black paper then the sketch pen has to be
brown and vice versa.

1 (a) BE A DIRECTOR
 Class teachers will select a team of six students.
 A theme will be given on the spot. The selected students
will prepare a script, direct and enact on it.
 Time Duration:- Preparation round- 40 mins
Presentation round-5 to 7 mins
 The Preliminary round will be held on 7.11.14
1(b) COMIC STRIPS
 Individual activity.
 Students will design a comic strip on the given theme.
 Theme will be given on the spot
 Students will bring all the required material.
Note: Students participating in “Be a Director” will not participate in
the “Comic Strip”.
2(a) THE ART OF QUILLING  Students will design an A4 size sheet.
 They will make a flower pot with 3 flowers and give the
sheet a border only using quilling.
 All the required material will be brought by the
students.
 Duration: 1 ½ Hours
2(b) BE LETTERED, NOT LITTERED
 Poster making on the topic “Be lettered, Not
Littered” using MS word.
 The preliminary round will be held during 3.11.14 to
7.11.14.

1 (a) POSTER BANAO –
 Individual activity.
 Students will prepare a poster along with a slogan in
Hindi on the given theme.
 The theme will be given on the spot.
 The students will bring A3 size white pastel sheets,
colours etc on their own.
 Duration – 1 ½ hours.

1(b)VAAD VIVAAD PRATIYOGITA –
 4 students will be selected from each section by the
class teacher.
 The preliminary round will be held on 7.11.2014.
 Topic – “Kya Mobile Ke Bina Zindagi Adhoori Hai?”
 Duration: 2 – 3 minutes.
Note: Students participating in “Vaad Vivaad Pratiyogita ” will not
participate in “Poster Banao”.
2. FOOD FIESTA  Students can buy and relish their favourite cuisine at
the food stalls.

 The topic will be given on the spot.
 All the required material: Drawing sheets, Clip
board, Wax Crayons , Oil Pastels, Sketch Pens for
outlining will be brought by the students.

 Students will depict the given story through 5-7 flash cards
 Pair activity
 The students will bring the required material i.e flash cards of
size 4 by 6 inches ( pastel sheet) , colours etc.
 Duration :-1 ½ hours
b) AIR YOUR VIEWS
 English declamation
 Class teacher will select 4 students after a preliminary round on
5/11/14
 Duration :-2-3 minutes
Note: Students participating in “AIR YOUR VIEWS” will not participate
in “STORY STREAMER”.
2 COMPOSITION WITH TANGRAMS
 Pair activity
 Students will be provided with 2 sheets of seven pieces each of
tangrams. They will cut the pieces and create a composition
having two figures / objects by pasting them on A-3 size pastel
sheet. They can use oil pastel / pencil colours to complete their
composition
 All the required material- A-3 size pastel sheet , scissors , glue ,
oil pastel / pencil colours , sketch pens will be brought by the
students.
 Duration :-1 ½ hours

1 a) CHEHRE PE CHEHRA
 Tribal mask making.
 The students will make the mask of any tribe of the world and
will write the tribal name and the place it belongs to at the
back of the mask.
 Individual activity
 The students will bring all the required material- hand made
sheets/ any other suitable paper , colours or any other
decorative material.
b) MONO ACTING
 Theme : Reduce , Reuse and Recycle
 Four students from each section will be selected by the class
teacher .
 The selection will be held on 3/11/14
 Duration :-5 minutes
Note: Students participating in “MONO ACTING” will not participate
in “CHEHRE PE CHEHRA”
2 3D PAPER ANIMAL
 Students will bring the material according to their selected
animal.
 Individual activity.
 Duration: 1 ½ Hours

1 a) SCIENCE QUIZ
 Four students from each section will be selected.
 Preliminary round will be on the basis of a questionnaire
on 5/11/14
b) FUN WITH SCIENCE
 Individual activity.
 Students will perform simple experiments based on science in
everyday life and should relate it to daily life for judgment.
 They will bring all the required material from home.
 Duration : 1 ½ hours
Note: Students participating in “SCIENCE QUIZ” will not participate in
“FUN WITH SCIENCE”
2 FOOD FIESTA
Children can buy and relish their favourite cuisine at the food stalls.

 Students will narrate an incident from the life of
“ GREAT PERSONALITIES” of Arya Samaj and DAV
 4 selected students from each section will participate.
 The selection round will be held on 7/11/14

b) VARG PAHELI
 Hindi crossword puzzle.
 Individual activity.
 Duration: 1 ½ Hours
Note: Students participating in “JIVAN PRASANG” will not
participate in “VARG PAHELI”
2.a) COMPUTER CROSSWORD
 Students will complete the given crossword on the
computer.
 Four students will be selected from each section.
 Preliminary round will be held during 3/11/14 to
7/11/14
 Duration:1 ½ Hours
2.b) WALL DECORATION
 The students will make any piece of A-3 size pastel
paper for decorating the wall.
 All the required material will be brought by the
students . Use of glitter is not allowed.

 Students will make a ‘Book Album’ of 4-5 pages. They will
paste/draw pictures and write information on their own on
their introduction, family, hobbies, etc.
 Individual Activity
 The students will bring all the required material i.e. A4 size
coloured sheets, photographs, oil pastels/pencil colours, fevicol,
sketch pens or any other decorative material.
 Use of glitters is not allowed.
 Duration :-1 ½ hours
b) TRIBUTE TO THE BRAVEHEARTS
 Patriotic Hindi Poem Recitation.
 Four students from each section will be selected by the class
teacher.
 The selection will be held on 5. 11.14.
 Duration:- 2-3 minutes.
Note: Students participating in ‘Tribute To The Bravehearts’will not
participate in ‘My Own World’.
2. MAKE YOUR WRAPPING PAPER
 Students will design a wrapping paper using the three colours of
our National flag.
 Individual Activity.
 Any method of paper designing can be used.
 The students will bring all the required material.
 Use of glitters is not allowed.
 Duration :-1 ½ hour
1.a). WORDLE

 The students will use MS Paint Software.
 They will fill the drawing area creatively with words arranged in
different ways. Four students will be selected from each
section.
 The selection round will be held during the week 3-11-14 to 711-14.
b) TETRA PACK ART
 The students will bring tetra packs of different sizes to make
objects like flowers, animals, birds, insects, etc.
 Individual activity.
 The students will bring all the required material i.e. tetra packs,
scissors, fevicol, colours, craft paper and any other eco-friendly
decorative material.
 Use of glitters is not allowed.
 Duration :-2 hours.
Note: Students participating in ‘Wordle’ will not participate in
‘Tetra Pack Art’.

1 a) RACK YOUR BRAINS
 English Quiz.
 Class teacher will select 4 students after a preliminary
round on 07.11.14.
b) FUN WITH STICKS
 The students will use any kind of sticks to create a
scene showing action words. They will also name
the actions.
 Individual activity.
 The students will bring all the required material i.e. different
types of sticks (ice cream sticks, match sticks, etc.) A3 size
pastel sheets, fevicol, sketch pens, scissors, etc.
 Use of glitters is not allowed.
 Duration :-1 ½ hours
Note: Students participating in ‘Rack Your Brains’ will not participate
in ‘Fun with sticks’.
2. BORDER DESIGNING
 The students will design creative and attractive borders
of 1 ½ inch.
 Individual activity.
 The students will bring all the required material i.e. A3
size pastel sheets of yellow or white colour, fevicol,
colours and any other decorative material required.
 Use of glitters is not allowed.
 Duration: 1 ½ Hours

1. a) SIRF EK MINUTE
 The students will speak on the given topic for one
minute in Hindi. The topic will be given on the spot.
 The class teacher will select four students.
 Preliminary round will be held on 3.11.14.
b) SHABD NIRMAN
 Hindi Word Building Game.
 Individual activity.
Note: Students participating in ‘Sirf Ek Minute’ will not participate in
‘Shabd Nirman’.

FUN WITH CIRCLES
 Sheets with circles of different radii will be provided.
Students will cut the given circles and make any
object / figure by pasting them on A3 size pastel
sheet. Students can make use of any two other
shapes to complete the object/ figure. They can give
the finishing touches by colouring the object/figure.
 Students will bring all the required material- colours,
scissors,fevistick, A-3sized pastel sheet, etc.
 Individual activity.
 Duration:1 ½ Hours

Note: Students participating in “KAVITA PATH” will not participate in
“SHABD KHEL”.

 The student will dress up as any geometrical object (Flat or
Solid) and speak 2-3 sentences on the same.

 The students will be given Maths crossword puzzle to solve.
 Individual activity.
Note: Students participating in “Geon Kid” will not participate in
“Maths Crossword”
2 STREAMER MAKING

 Students will make colourful streamers using material of their
choice.

1 a) CHARATER PORTRAYAL
 Character depiction of any personality related to Arya
Samaj or D.A.V.( Medium- English)
 Class teacher will select 4 students after a preliminary
round on 07.11.14.
 Time Duration:2 Mins Each
b) SPELLATHON
 English word building game.
 Individual activity.
Note: Students participating in “Character Depiction” will not
participate in “Spellathon”.
2 DRESS A DOLL
 Students will be provided with a picture of a doll. They
will decorate the doll with tearing and pasting.
 Individual activity.
 Duration: 1 ½ Hours
Note: Paper tearing will be done in the class only.

 Students will play computer game.
 Preliminary round will be held during 3.11.14 to
07.11.14.
 4 students will be selected from each section.
b)BEAD CRAFT
 Students will make use of beads and create any item
out of it.
 All required material will be brought by the
students.

 Duration: 1 ½ Hours
2.PUZZLE ‘O’MANIA
 Students will be given a puzzle sheet. They will be
asked to cut, paste and colour the puzzle and give it
a suitable title.
 All the required material –Colours, scissors,Fevistick,
A-4 sized pastel sheet etc will be brought by
students.
 Individual activity.
 Duration:1 ½ Hours

Competitions
1. (a) J.A.M (Just a minute)
 On the spot English speaking activity.
Students will be given 10 minutes to
prepare the chosen topic. They will speak
for 1 minute.
 Four best entries will be chosen by the class
teacher for which a preliminary round will
be held on 3.11.14.
(b) TRIATHLON
 An English word building and puzzle game.
 Individual activity.
Note- Students participating in JAM will not
take part in Triathlon.
2. 3D CREATIONS
 Students will bring solid shapes covered
with glaze paper and make a 3D figure of
their choice. All the required material along
with a labeled base of thermocol or card
board will be brought by the students.
 Note- any highlighted shapes will not be
allowed.
 Individual activity.
 Duration-1 ½ hrs

1. (a) TRANSMEDIA
 Students will dress up and present
themselves as any inanimate character
under the theme of TRANSPORT OR MASS
MEDIA. They can use props also.
 Four best entries will be chosen by the class
teacher for which a preliminary round will
be held on 7.11.14. No costume or props
required for preliminary round.
 Time Limit- 1 ½ minute

(b) BE A DESIGNER
 Students will be provided with a cutout of a
dress which they will design and decorate in
the class.
 Decoration Material like buttons, lace,
ribbons, decoratives, cut pieces of cloth or
paper, fevicol will be brought by the
students.
 Use of glitter is not allowed.
 Individual activity
 Time duration- 1 ½ hrs
Note- Students participating in Transmedia
will not take part in Be a designer.
2. PLANT PRIDE
 A picture on the theme ‘Save trees’ will be
provided to the students. They will tear and
paste papers of different colours on the
given sheet.
 Material required- Origamy or similar
sheets of different colours, fevistick.
 Individual activity.
 Duration- 1 ½ hrs
 Note- Paper tearing will be done in the
class. No scissors allowed.

 Students will recite a poem on the theme
‘SWACHH BHARAT’ with actions, props and
in appropriate costume.
 Four best entries will be chosen by the class
teacher for which a preliminary round will
be held on 5.11.14. No costume or props
required for preliminary round.
 .Duration- 1 ½- 2 minutes
(b) TECH GAMER
 Computer gaming
 Four students from each section will be
selected during a preliminary round which
will be held from 3rd to 7th November 2014
 Games will be given on the spot
(c) DOHAVALI
 Students will recite a ‘doha’ or ‘chaupai’
with its bhavarth(meaning in 2-3 sentences)
 Individual activity
 Time limit- 1 ½ -2 minutes
Note- Students taking part in ‘Nanhe Kavi
and Tech gamer’ will not take part in
Dohavali
2. PLATE YOUR IDEAS
 One quarter size paper plate will be
provided to the students to make
something creative out of it. Examples Wall
hanging, mask etc.
 Decoration material as per requirement will
be brought by the students.
 Individual activity.
 Duration- 1 ½ hrs

1.(a) MATHS MARATHON
 Students will take part in a hurdle race
crossing each level by solving mathematical
puzzles.
 It is a team event.
 Four students will be chosen by the class
teacher for which a preliminary round will
be held on 5.11.14.
(b) SHAPE ‘O’ ART
 Students will be provided with shapes
based on a theme. They will create figures
or objects by drawing and colouring along
the shapes.
 Individual activity
 Material required- Oil pastels, wax crayons
and sketch pen for outlining.
 Duration- 1 ½ hrs
