From The Counseling Office: The University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy and the Pennsylvania School for
Global Entrepreneurship at Lehigh University (former Governor's School programs) are accepting applications for the 2015
summer programs. Current high school sophomores and juniors are welcome to apply. The application deadline is February
15, 2015. Fees range from $2700 to $3450 per program. Applications are available in the Counseling Office.
Students and parents are invited to a College Financial Aid Night scheduled for Monday, November 17th at 7PM in the
Parkland High School Auditorium. Mr. Michael Burke, a representative from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance
Agency will be our presenter for the evening.
Attention Juniors - Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Science applications are available in the Counseling Office. Full
scholarships will cover the cost of tuition, room, board, instructional materials and program activities. The program runs June
28 thru August 1, 2015 at Carnegie Mellon University. Applications must be submitted to the Counseling Office by Friday,
January 16, 2015. Please stop by the Counseling Office if you are interested in applying to this very competitive program.
On Saturday, November 15th Kaplan will be hosting a free SAT/ACT Combo Practice Test at Lehigh University from 9AM to
1PM. This one day event will allow students to experience both SAT and ACT in one unique practice test. Students will receive
a detailed analysis of their performance on both tests helping them to make an informed decision about which exam best suits

From The Athletic Office: Proper behavior & attire is required at all athletic events. NO backpacks, drawstring bags,
outside drinks or food are allowed to be brought into a Parkland athletic event.
Winter Track will begin on Monday, November 17th. Practices will be held at the track and start at 3:15 pm. Please
come prepared to workout.
Congratulations to the Girls’ Volleyball team! They will play on Saturday, 11/15 for the STATE
TITLE!!! The game will take place at Richland High School, in Johnstown, PA game time 3pm.
When you see any of our OUTSTANDING volleyball players please wish them luck!!! GO LADY
