A Message from the President
If you have never made the fashion shows in New York, Paris or Milan, now is your chance to
experience the next best thing! The Garlands & Glitter Fashion Show, Fun Holiday Shopping and Entertainment
Event is happening on the evening of Friday, November 7th from 6 to 10 pm at the Bluegrass Country Club. Our
own Newcomers Anita Durham, Jane Marshall, Connie Maynard and Judy Peck will join the reigning Mrs.
Tennessee, Mrs. Senior America and many other runway stars for a wonderful evening of elegance and
entertainment.
We are so very pleased to have attracted some great support from our business community. Dr. Nicholas Tarola
of Tarola Plastic Surgery has recently opened a satellite office in Hendersonville and has become our presenting
sponsor. The delightfully relaxing Carmen’s Day Spa & Wellness Center is also a major sponsor and will provide
make up for a number of our models right at their spa location on Saundersville Rd. These wonderfully
generous people, along with our other sponsors and so many supporters from our larger community will join
Newcomers for a great party to benefit Ashley’s Place, an organization that helps young children heal from the
trauma of sexual and physical abuse. Please see pg 3 for more detail and join us!
Newcomers are blessed indeed to have so many wonderful activities to choose from each month. Our
Luncheons have drawn great attendance, a nod to both our interesting presentations and tasty buffets. The
popular Evening of Wine and Appetizers is now scheduling get-togethers for 2015 which is wide open. Please
contact Wendy Perry to host. We also have interest in organizing a fourth game, couples euchre, and a third
book club with a specific theme. Lots and lots going on! We can be very proud of our Club and all that it offers.
