Riverside Bridge School is brand new purpose built co-located special school which will open in September

Trinity School is an ambitious and successful special school. It opened in 1997 and its purpose built site
caters for 280 students (aged 3-19) with a broad spectrum of needs including ASD / PMLD / SLD.
Governors seek to appoint a Teacher Manager to take on the challenge of leading our specialist 48 week
provision for six students with autism, aged 5-19 years.
The Living and Learning Centre successfully meets the needs of a small group of pupils who display highly
challenging behaviour and it has supported their continued inclusion within the community. The Manager
will lead a team that has extensive CPD and training opportunities.
Trinity is seeking a Qualified Teacher who has:

experience of working with primary or secondary aged students with Autism, as well as experience
of a range of curriculum areas/differentiation.
experience of using the TEACCH principle and of establishing and sharing models of good practice
experience of devising and implementing individual educational support programmes and of
planning for the curricular and behaviour aspects of pupil support programmes

An ICT Technician and Support Assistant post has become available due to the retirement of the current
post holder. It is a full time post, to provide technical support for the use of ICT across the school and
support the teaching and learning of ICT. Qualifications or knowledge of Microsoft Windows and RM is
essential, as is some experience of working with children. The post is for term time only, with the possibility
of negotiated over time in school holidays. It would be preferred for the candidate to start in December
2014 to allow handover by current post holder.

manners and generally helping the children.
You will need to be punctual, creative and able to demonstrate that you are able to use your own initiative.
Experience of working and playing with young children is essential. An up to date First Aid qualification
would be desirable although training can be arranged. This post is also subject to a clear DBS check.
Visits to school are most welcome and highly recommended.

being able to help support our most vulnerable pupils. Previous relevant experience of working with
children with BESD and implementing behaviour plans confidently is essential. Experience of teaching high
quality support work across EYFS and KS1 is desirable. You will also be dedicated to listening to our

The post holder’s key responsibilities will be to:
Implement and maintain effective support for children with BESD and their families;

opened in 2012. Riverside School serves the growing Barking Riverside community on the banks of the
Thames and is already fully-subscribed. The school currently operates in superb newly built

The role of the Teaching Assistant will consist of the following:
1. Contributing to discussions concerning pupils with SEN to inform for planning/reviewing or
monitoring purposes.
2. Be conversant with and use information technology equipment available within the school, loading

3. Assist, under the guidance of appropriate professional staff, with the implementation of behaviour
programmes.
4. Ensure pupils’ access to classroom activities.
5. Assist, as appropriate, pupils with SEN in a range of activities outside the classroom e.g. pastoral
support, school trips.
6. Contribute verbal/written reports on pupils with SEN for review purposes.
7. Be responsible, in the school setting, for the health, safety and welfare of pupils with SEN.

such other appropriate duties as may be required by the Head of school within the grading level of the post
and the competence of the post holder.
