Kenya, which ranked 40th last year, is now in the 43rd spot
on the World Watch List. The minimal change misrepresents the actual increase in the level of persecution. Faith
-related violence reduced firmly; however, pressure in the
different spheres of Christian life intensified. On the one
hand, the church faces intensifying levels of persecution; the government’s stance against religious institutions is becoming less and less
positive. Moreover, Muslim attitudes and targeted violence against
Christians are also a major issue (especially after the recent attack on
a shopping center in Nairobi, by the Muslim extremist group alShabaab). Additionally, there is a complicated relationship between
the leaders of the Christian and Muslim community. On the other hand,
the willingness to cooperate amongst the churches is high.
Pray for our Nation! Pray for those who are lost!
Pray for Laborers for the Harvest! Pray for the Persecuted church!
