About the Role

a senior finance professional and leader, managing a large and diverse team of
accountants and finance staff, leading the Council’s Corporate Finance services and
transactional finance service. Functions include co-ordinating the preparation of the
Council’s revenue and capital budgets; financial planning, overall responsibility for the
preparation of the Council’s final accounts; treasury and investment management and
responsibility for transactional services (AP & AR).
In addition, the role will act jointly as Deputy s.151 officer, representing the Chief
Finance Office as required.
About You
You will need to be a fully qualified CCAB accountant (including CIMA) with a proven
track record, over a minimum of 3 years at a senior professional and/or managerial
level, of the responsibilities of the post.

You should have an understanding of and be able to evidence working successfully in
strategy development and implementation, service delivery, resourcing, motivating and
developing teams and managing change and performance improvement.

directors, senior management teams and other stakeholders.
Previous experience of providing financial support to Adult and Children’s Services
would be an advantage, as would an understanding of the national context for these

work for children and young people

and children affected by domestic violence and abuse in South Gloucestershire and

and an understanding of domestic abuse, relevant experience in the field or

Sessional Crèche / Play Workers (female only*)
Salary: Hay 11, starting point 14, £16,327 pro rata, £9.30 per hour
Survive is an innovative agency working with women and children who have
experienced domestic violence and abuse. This year we will celebrate our 40th
anniversary. From small beginnings when volunteers set up our first refuge we have
expanded our services to include a range of services which now include preventative
work as well as work with high risk women and children. We have a good reputation
and a staff team of 25 across one main office and 3 refuges.
We are looking to employ flexible Sessional Crèche / Play Workers who have
experience working in an early years setting and are also confident to provide play
opportunities for older children. You will join our play team and provide crèche services
based in the community and occasional play sessions and trips out with the families
that live in our safe houses. It is important that you have a good knowledge of
safeguarding procedures as the children we support have witnessed or experienced
domestic abuse. We are looking for someone who can respond sensitively to the
needs of the children and have an awareness of some of the factors that may impact
on their lives.
Hours: As and when required during office hours, during term time and in the school
holidays. We are especially looking for someone who can cover two crèche sessions
on a Thursday (in two locations).

This post will have a refuge, re-settlement and outreach case load and you will
undertake support planning, safety planning and risk assessments with parents /
carers and their children. You will deliver tailored support to children and young
people on a 1:1 basis and you will support parents to develop an understanding of the
impacts of domestic abuse on children. You will support parents practically and
emotionally, ensuring that they have effective support in place to begin to recover from
their experiences. You will advocate for children and parents at a multi agency level

welfare. You will work flexibly across sites, and support other services within the
children’s team, as needed. You will receive a comprehensive induction and will be
supported by a strong and committed staff team.

Tiny Happy People Nursery, Easton Families Project
We are looking for a Nursery Manager for a small voluntary sector nursery for 2 – 4
year olds. EYPS or QTS essential. The nursery has 2 rooms, both with deputy

managers. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced deputy or room leader to
move forward in their career. This will be a 'hands-on' role, focusing on children's
development, teaching and monitoring children's learning goals, care routines and
