New Jersey ratifies the Bill of Rights
On this day in 1789, New Jersey ratifies the Bill of Rights, becoming the first state to do so. New Jersey's action
was a first step toward making the first 10 amendments to the Constitution law and completing the
revolutionary reforms begun by the Declaration of Independence.

the Sons of Italy Grand Lodge scholarship is now available. You can pick up a paper copy in Student Service, or go online to

If you are planning to go to Sonoma State University next year, stop by Student Services for an SSU Scholarship Program
instruction sheet. The application is online at www.sonoma.edu/scholarship/application.html. Any student who has applied to
Sonoma State with a 3.0 or higher GPA is eligible. Do not wait for your acceptance letter before applying! Application is due no

Seniors- you can now apply for a scholarship from Ronald McDonald House/HACER. The deadline is January 20 , 2015.
Requirements are that you are a high school senior, attempting college next year, have a least one parent of Hispanic/Latino
Heritage, be a U.S. Resident. You must submit letters of recommendation, have a list of community service projects, provide a
transcript and write a personal essay highlighting your academic career

The USC School of Cinematic Arts is offering a new scholarship: The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Fund for Student Support.

STUDENTS:
1. Students-you can take a Napa Valley College class in January here on our site! Napa Valley College will be
hosting Counseling 100-College Success. The class is worth 3 credits and is transferable to a 4 year college.
Class will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15- 4:30pm starting January 21st and running through May 28th.
To take the class, you must apply for Spring 2015 on the Napa Valley College website. Once you have applied,
you will need to go over to campus and bring a High School Concurrent Enrollment Form (Request for Special
Admission). This form can be picked up in the Napa High Student Services Office. See your counselor for more

2. There is a CANNED FOOD DRIVE that is taking place in various classrooms around campus. If you would like to
donate, each barrel has a list of what is needed, please drop off your donation in any of the 30 barrels, Friday,
November 21. Thanks for your and generous donations!!
3. Girls, ages 14-17: If you have community service in any area of finding a problem & helping to solve it, and you
have significant accomplishments as a volunteer – this is for you! Soroptimist International of Napa is again
sponsoring the Violet Richardson Award honoring young women for volunteer action. Applications are in Student
Services, and are due no later than December 1st. Pick up your application and complete it now!..............Mulgrew
4. Speech Contest sponsored by the American Association of University Women! Applications are in Student
Services, and are due by December 12th. The speech topic is “College: Is it Worth the Time and Expense?”
Speeches must be 5-7minutes in length. Date of contest is February 11 th, 2015 and will take place in the
Community Room at the Napa County Library. Money prizes for the top 3speeches!................................Mulgrew

1. Anti Bully Club will be hosting a “What Are You Thankful For” activity Wednesday through Friday at break. Stop
by the table in the quad and write what you are thankful for this year on a feather. We’ll attach the flyer to a
