AP Statistics Valid Survey Project

Mr. Blisard’s AP Statistics students had the opportunity to simulate a school-wide valid survey
project at North Dorchester High School. On November 6, these students, with the permission of selected
teachers, visited different classes in order to randomly survey students of various grade levels. The AP
Statistics students had prepared their own survey topic and questions beforehand and followed procedures to
gather statistically valid data. Afterwards, the AP students analyzed their data and prepared a formal written
report that documented the results of their surveys as valid.
Without the help of the staff at North Dorchester, simulating this survey accurately would have not been
possible. Mr. Blisard thanked the teachers who participated and said, “I really do appreciate all of the support
that the teachers at North Dorchester provide for this project.”
