trawling through the dusty vaults at Blacktown for

veritable treasure trove. Here’s the original Blacktown
Hospital under construction in 1963 (above) and we’re
still growing in 2014!

respiratory and heart disease.
The new centres provide

together so patients can
quickly be assessed and

The Clinical Services Building
now under construction at
Blacktown Hospital will provide
170 beds and new
comprehensive care centres for
cancer, cardiac, respiratory and
aged care.
The project is part of the BMDH
Expansion Project Stage 1 and
will open in 2015.
The new building will connect
seamlessly into the existing
hospital via a light-filled internal
street complete with retail and
dining areas.

chemotherapy clinics,
consultation, counselling and
education areas in a
welcoming new complex.
In the cardiac centre,
coronary care and cardiology
wards connect directly to the
new clinical measurement
unit and cardiac gym, and are
close to related speciality
areas such as the cath lab,
diabetes and respiratory
specialities.
Our world-class new facility
will provide the local
community with services
currently only available at
hospitals such as Liverpool
and Westmead.
