Weather forecast summary: The sky will remain variably cloudy. No rainfall is expected during next five days.
Wind will blow slightly above its normal speed by 4- 5 km/hr. Maximum temperature shall range between 22 to
23 oC whereas minimum temperature shall range between 05 to 06 oC. The relative humidity during morning
will be 80 - 90 % and during afternoon may range between 50 - 60 %.

Farmers are recommended to sow PBW-175, RSP-81 (Jitto) in
Subtropical zones of the region.

Sowing of wheat varieties VL-829 and PBW-175 under the
rainfed conditions and VL- 892, VL-738, VL-804, HS-507 for
both irrigated and rainfed areas are recommended for
Intermediate lower zone.

Treat the seed with carbendazim (2g/kg seed) or tebuconazole
(1.25g/kg seed) for managing the seed borne diseases.
Harvest the crop when pods turn yellow. Harvested crop should
be stacked for 7-10 days before threshing.
In Sub tropical zone farmers may also take up the

Basant, Pusa Bahar, RH-30 and RL1359 is recommended in
Sub tropical zone.

Apply Fluchloralin @ 0.70 kg a.i./ha as Pre plant
incorporation (PPI) or Pendimethalin @ 1.0 kg a.i./ha (preemergence) dissolved in 500-600 for effective of control
annual grasses and broad leaved weeds in mustard. Spray
herbicide on non rainy day.

Advised one hoeing cum weeding operation within 30 days of
sowing to control weeds and conserve moisture for higher
yield in this crop in Intermediate lower zone.

Sowing of pea varieties (T-163, PG-2 and Rachna) is
recommended.

Sowing of lentil (L-9/12 and PL-406) is recommended.

Treat the seed with captan or thiram (3g/kg seed) for control of
collar /root rot and wilt.

One or two hoeing and weeding between 20 & 40 days after
sowing are beneficial for good yield.

Advised sowing/planting of potato (Kufri Sindhuri, Kufri
Badshah and Kufri Jyoti), radish, carrot, turnip and garlic in
sub-tropical areas of region.

Earthing up of plants in cole crops under Intermediate lower
zone is essential for better stand in cole crops.
-
Advised frequent shallow interculture in the soil to kill the
weeds. Weeding should be done as the plants are well set in the
fields of cole crops.
-
For the control of leaf minor in new growth of citrus, spray
recommended chemicals and for the control of citrus canker,
spray malathion 10 ml or metasystox 10 ml per 10 lt water. In
order to check the pre harvest fruit drop in Citrus, spray 2,4-D
@ 20 ppm.

Irrigate the fruit plants depending on soil & water condition.
Remove stock sprouts/ water sprouts. Thatching material for
young plants be procured. Rake the soil around tree trunks &
mix methyl parathion 2% dust @ 250g/tree for controlling
nymphs of mealy bud.

Keep the basins of the plants free from weeds.
Farmers are recommended to go for sowing of berseem (var.
Mescavi, Pusa Giant, BL-1 and Vardan). Use 25-30 kg seed
per hectare. Mix one kg of mustard with berseem in order to
increase the quantity of fodder during first cut.

Sow varieties Kent and Sabzar in Oats under Intermediate
lower zone and Sabzar in Intermediate higher zone.

After casing, keep the bags in a growing room at 23+2 oC for
one week. Then bring down the temperature to 13+2 oC to
initiate pin heading. When pinning is profuse, do not spray
water directly on the pin heads. Maintain complete hygiene in
the mushroom house.

Provide winter packing for protection against cold and frost.

Avoid moldy feed and fodder to animals.
Keep the cowshed and the utensils clean to avoid the
contamination of the milk and do not allow the water to
stagnate in the cow shed.
Normal feeding schedule should be continued and add minerals
mineral mixture in the diet to enhance the milk production.
Protect the animals from cold as temperature is expected to fall
in next week.

The poultry shed should be dry & clean and ensure drinking
water to the birds.
Ensure proper bedding material (saw dust/rice husk) to protect
