Parks & Recreation Department Staff
Registration opens August 11 and will continue until classes
are full or are canceled due to lack of enrollment. People must
register for classes unless otherwise noted. Registration and payment must be received at
least five business days before class start date. Classes will be canceled if minimum enrollment
has not been met five business days before class start date. Accepted payment methods are listed
below. All programs are held at Fife Community Center, unless otherwise noted.
Refund Policy
Failure to withdraw 5 days prior to the advertised program start date will result in the loss of
100% of program registration costs. Withdrawal 5 or more days prior to the advertised program start date will result in a full refund, minus a $5.00 service fee. No refunds will be given
for missed days. Refunds will be returned by mail within 30 days.

Fife Harvest Festival
The 2014 Annual Harvest Festival will be
Saturday, October 4th. This event has
FREE admission, tons of free activities,
and held rain or shine. Jump on your
tractor and head on down! Highlights
include, (but certainly not limited too):
Council Corn on the Cob, hay rides, face
painting, live entertainment, western
village and so much more! This community
event is for you, so be the star! Whether
you want
to be in the parade, become a vendor, or
just enjoy the FREE all day activities, we
want YOU involved!

Breakfast with Santa (Ages 12 mos +)
Theme: Miracle on 54th Street. You are
cordially invited to enjoy a delicious
breakfast with Santa. Kids will have the
opportunity to participate in holiday
activities and visit with Santa about their
Christmas wish list. Children must attend
with one parent or responsible adult. Don’t
forget to bring your cameras for a picture
with Santa! Must pre-register. Breakfast
will be served from 9:15-10:15 a.m.

Holiday Tree lighting with Santa
Santa trades in his sleigh for a fire truck!
Come celebrate the season with the Mayor

Halloween Kids Night Out (ages 4-12)
Parents, have a Halloween Party to go
to? If so, drop off your kids with their
Halloween outfit on at the Fife Community
Center for a Halloween Party. We will
make treats & Halloween art projects,
watch fun Halloween movies, play group
games, and enjoy pizza and ice cream.
They can even go through the Haunted
Community Center. All this fun for less
than you would pay for a baby-sitter!

Family Fused Glass Class
(Ages 6 +)
In the fused glass class the student will
learn to use & combine several glass
products to make art pieces. No prior
experience with glass is required. 2 or

Holiday Kids Night Out (ages 4-12)
Parents, do you need to start or finish
some holiday shopping? Drop your kids
off at Fife Community Center for a holiday
party. We will make treats and holiday art
projects, watch a holiday movie, play group
games, and enjoy pizza and ice cream. All
this fun for less than you would pay for

Indoor Toddler Play Park (Ages 1-5)
This program is for parents and caregivers
with children. Children enjoy small and
large motor skill activities, art experiences,
or group games. Planned activity every
Tuesday at 10 a.m. Parents/ Caregivers
must be present to supervise their children
at all times. No registration is required. We
will be having a special toddler time on the

The City of Fife Parks and Recreation
provides a fun and safe place for middle
school students after- school that
encourages and develops life skills,
respect, and positive social interaction.
Daily activities include homework help,
group games, sports, and art projects.
Registration forms are located at Surprise
Lake Middle School Office, Endeavour
Intermediate School Office, and at the Fife
Community Center. 25 Student Limit.

Women’s Kundalini Yoga Series
(Ages 16+)
Kundalini, the yoga of awareness, utilizes
breath, movement, sound, meditation, and
chanting as a way to connect deeper and
more fully to our mind, body, and soul.
Kundalini is a fun practice of yoga that
many experience as different and powerful.
Often students leave a class feeling clear,
awake, alive.... No experience necessary to
participate and ALL are welcome.

Bunco
Bunco is a fun game that provides
opportunity to socialize while playing.
Strictly speaking, Bunco is a game of
dice, played in rounds. Players take turns
rolling the dice trying to accumulate
as many points as possible to win each
round. The fame is played at table of four
in completing teams of two. Players score
points by rolling three dice trying to match
the number they’re supposed to roll for that
round. Join the crew!

AAA Driver’s Safety Class
American Driving Services is accepting
reservations for its refresher course on
defensive driving skills. The course gives
practical guidance for traffic accident
prevention and enhances driver safety and
confidence. Successful course completion
qualifies drivers 55 years of age and
over for automobile insurance premium
discounts. Check with your insurance
agent for the amount and duration of the
discount. To register for the class, please

Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad
There are only a few steam-powered railroads
remaining in the Northwest and we are
visiting one today. Our trip includes traveling
through the forested foothills of Mt. Rainier,
transporting yourself back in time and
watching a civil war reinactment. So come
aboard and enjoy the ride. Lunch on your own
at Elbe Train Station.

Northwest Trek & Winery
Come experience the Pacific Northwest’s
premier wildlife and adventure park. The

goats and more. After a morning of excitement
we are off to relax at King 5’s Best of Western
Washington, Rainier view Winery and Nursery

Fantasy Lights Trip
Pierce County Parks and Recreation is pleased
to present the 19th Annual “Fantasy Lights at
Spanaway Park,” which is the largest holiday
drive-through display around. It features over
300 displays and thousands of sparkling lights.
The beautiful two-mile drive along Spanaway
Lake has become a memorable lakeside
tradition for the entire Fife Family. We will
enjoy a great meal prior to the drive at Farrelli’s
and a little Holiday Treat for dessert on the
ride. Dinner will be on your own.

The FCC & SeaMar Community Health
Center have joined forces to provide
pregnant women, infants and children
with supplemental food and basic health
care. In order to be eligible, a client must
meet the income guidelines and have
a medical or nutritional risk which the
WIC staff will help determine. You must
make an appointment in order to be seen.

Dacca Park is a beautiful and scenic area
with four fields for softball and baseball,
a basketball court, sand volleyball court,

has its own air-conditioning and heating as well

Opened in 2005, this
neighborhood park is a very
popular gathering place.
Amenities include a basketball
court, climbing rocks, play
structures, and gazebo for an
array of age groups.
Fountain Memorial

The Park was named after
the historic Fife fountain
that resides next to it. The
park links Fife's other civic
buildings, including the Fife
Community Center, Swim
Center, and Fire Station.
Colburn Park

Built in the mid-1990's, this
park is adjacent to the Fife
Swim Center. Colburn Park
has a nice picnic area for
families as well as swings and
playground equipment. The
playground is a great place to
play either before or after a
swim at the pool.
Hylebos Nature Area
6125 8th Street East
The City acquired this 15
acre site along Hylebos Creek
through County and Federal
grants. The property was
developed as an important
habitat restoration project.
This site is a great addition
to our growing park system,
providing citizens a place to
enjoy nature.
