Membership Registration
The Association welcomes professionals and practitioners with an interest in farm and agribusiness management from government, academia,
non-governmental organizations and industry to register as members. The
member’s fee is US $100 for professionals and $30 for students valid for two
years. Membership fees should be paid along with the conference registration fee.

Congress Announcement and Call for Papers
The African Farm Management Association (AFMA) invites interested farm
management and agribusiness professionals and practitioners to submit
papers for the forthcoming Congress planned for the 16-20th November
2014 in Cape Town, South Africa. The ninth AFMA Congress follows a successful eight Congress held in Nairobi, Kenya, on the 25th-29th November
2012.
The Forum will provide an avenue for farm and agribusiness specialists
and other stakeholders in the public and private sectors for exchanging
knowledge and experiences in an effort to reposition African agriculture in
the global environment. The outline programme is available on the Congress website at http://www.afma-sa.co.za/. The objectives of AFMA are
to:
1. Advance the knowledge and understanding of farm business management and to exchange ideas and information about farm management theory and practice throughout the continent of Africa and
the world.
2. Improve cooperation among stakeholders in Farm management with
an interest in African issues at the regional and international levels.
3. Promote capacity building, research, policy dialogue and interest of
Farm Management in Africa.
4. Contribute to the wider objective of agricultural productivity in an effort to reduce poverty, enhance food security and sustainable use of
farm resources in African
5. Congress Sub-Themes
The Local Organizing Committee is soliciting for papers on the following
sub themes:
1. Access to credit, markets and trade
2. Research development and technology transfer
3. Tools and support requirements for African farms
4. Agricultural productivity, commercialisation and competitiveness
5. Agribusiness and Farm management
6. Natural resource management and climate change
Oral Presentations
Presenters of both peer reviewed and applied papers will be allocated 15
minutes to make their presentations. All presentations will be made
using PowerPoint. Further guidelines will be posted on the website
http://www.afma-sa.co.za/.
Poster Presentations
An area will be provided for display of posters and the poster size should
be A1.
Congress fee
The Congress fee, which includes the membership fee, will cover a package of congress materials (bag, DVD of proceedings, name badges, note
books and pens), mid-congress tour, refreshments tea/coffee/water), gala
dinner and lunches.
