ADMITTED STUDENTS SECTION
Accept Your Offer of Admission
Secure Your Enrollment
This is a critical step that lets us know you plan to enroll at WSSU for the spring 2015 semester.
As soon as you accept your offer you may register for New Freshman Day. Approximately one
week after you complete this step your WSSU email account will be created and you can begin
checking your emails.
Pay Your Enrollment Fee
Secure Your Enrollment
The enrollment fee is $218.00 and covers the housing application fee ($135.00) and the
RAMDITION fee ($83.00). You can make a single payment of $218.00 or you can make two or
more payments to cover the fee. On-campus housing assignments are not made until you pay
the $135.00 housing application fee in full. We encourage you to meet this payment amount as
soon as possible. The fee for RAMDITION - $83.00 – must be paid no later than January 5, 2015.

Know Your WSSU Email Address
Secure Your Enrollment
WSSU student email is an official method for all university communications (including academic
and enrollment services). And it is often the primary source of communication. For example,
you will receive your housing assignment through your WSSU email account.
Waive or Enroll – Student Health Insurance
Student Wellness
All schools in the UNC system require that you enroll in the Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS)
insurance plan unless you provide proof of other health insurance coverage through the waiver
process. Other health insurance includes coverage under a parent/guardian health insurance
plan, coverage under your personal plan, or Medicaid. Student athletes may not waive the
BCBS insurance.
The premium for the BCBS Student Health Insurance is $802.00 with coverage starting January
1, 2015 and ending on July 31, 2015. This cost will automatically appear on your student bill for
the spring semester. If you complete the waiver process, and your waiver is approved, you will
not have to pay the premium. Please note, the premium will remain on your bill until midFebruary at which time it will be removed.
Complete the Financial Aid Process
Financial Aid Process
Financial aid awards are made after the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has
been received by WSSU and reviewed for accuracy and completeness. The award process may
take between four to six weeks to complete based on your specific situation.
Financial aid award are optimal. Financial aid award may be changed/modified as required or
needed per federal and/or state regulations and institutional policies.
You may be selected for verification, a process that confirms the accuracy of the information
you provided on the FAFSA. Selection for verification is determined by the U.S. Department of
Education. WSSU also reserves the right to request verification based on the FAFSA. If you are
selected for verification we ask that you submit the requested documents as soon as possible
and avoid any additional delays in the award process.
If you are selected for verification by the U.S. Department of Education, you will be notified by
email. The email notification will be sent by [email protected]. If you are selected for
verification by WSSU the email notification will be sent by [email protected]. Verification emails
are sent to the email address you provided on your FAFSA.
If you are selected for verification you will be notified via your Banner Rams Online account.

STEP
ADMITTED STUDENTS SECTION
Apply for On-Campus Housing
Living on Campus
New freshmen are required to live on campus. You will need to complete and submit the
required housing forms and pay the $135.00 housing application fee.
You may apply for an exemption to the on-campus housing requirement if you meet at least
one of the exemptions and provide appropriate documentation.
Submit Immunization Records/Health History
Student Wellness
The State of North Carolina requires all new students to provide proof of required
immunizations. WSSU requires all new students to provide a record of their health history in
order to provide appropriate health care.
You will not be allowed to move into your residence hall until you have complied with the
North Carolina immunization requirements.
Submit Final Transcripts
Secure Your Enrollment
If you are currently enrolled in classes at a high school and/or community college you must
submit official, final transcripts. Students who are completing their last semester of high school
must submit transcripts in order for any financial aid award to be released. Students who are
completing courses at a community college must submit transcripts in order to receive credit
for the courses and to ensure they are enrolled in the appropriate classes.
Pay Your Student Bill
Paying for College
You must pay, or make arrangements to pay, your student bill no later than January 7, 2014 to
remain in a residence hall and attend classes. There are several options for paying your student
bill including payment by credit or debit card, cashier check, money order, or establishing a
payment plan. Payment plans are offered by the WSSU Office of Student Accounts and
Cashiering through our RAMPay Plan. There is a $40 fee to enroll in the payment plan.
The RAMPay monthly payment is determined based on your student bill and when you start
