TBD in February
In 2013, AGC Georgia placed a greater emphasis, with the help of the very knowledgeable
and talented members of our Technology Committee, on offering quality programs to
help general and specialty contractor members integrate more technology into their
project management. The information has been well-received by those attending classes
in our training center, and for the second year we are excited to bring valuable
information to our regional meetings.
The construction industry is in the middle of a major change in how workflows are
accomplished. The traditional means to accomplish our work is fading away and
being replaced by new, more streamline innovative technology. In today’s climate
many construction firms are using mobile devices and apps to solve workflow issues.
To leverage these devices and a host of available apps, a company must first commit
to explore the possibilities and phase in new technology! We’ll talk through the
below steps to help firms embrace more technology.





Create an internal technology committee
Review current workflow practices
Select and beta test apps
Deploy apps and train employees
Make time for an annual review with all company stakeholders
Don’t miss this program, and even more important, don’t send just one person!
Attendees to other programs like this included everyone from the CEO to the field
superintendent. You must have buy-in from all levels of your company to make
implementing new technology a success!
If you and your team could benefit from learning more about construction-related
technology, sign up for a meeting near you!
