Protective Industrial Products, a supplier of
work gloves and personal protective
equipment to distribution throughout the
world.
Protective Industrial Products is a U.S. based company that is jointly owned by Joe Milot, the
company’s president, and Wellson Tao, his partner. Since 1984, PIP has operated as a supplier
of work gloves as “buy and sell” partners with the value proposition of quality, integrity, and
safety to distribution throughout the United States. In recent years, operations in Mexico,
Australia, China and Panama have been developed to meet the needs of those countries.
PIP’s products have been designed and well tested with the utmost safety. PIP offers extensive products of personal protection equipment including eye and face protection, hearing
protection, head protection, ergonomic wear, respiratory safety, hand protection, hand
sanitizer, warning beacons, and etc.

PIP has been using NAV for many years and decide to upgrade to AX 2012 R2 with below main

Solution:
Upgrade NAV to AX 2012
Number of Users:
22 Users (6 Enterprise users + 16 Functional
users)
Improve system performance because NAV system speed including searching/report
generation is not desirable
Solution
There are 4 companies in existing Dynamics NAV for PIP. In this project, PIP decided to implement 3 Hong Kong companies in Dynamics AX 2012 first, and implement AX 2012 for other
countries after this project.

Benefit from AX 2012
AX 2012 has product master that can maintain product dimension like size, color, configuration, and etc. It
can improve the product control/keeping for PIP. On the other hand,
master data sharing feature in AX 2012 can help PIP on controlling the chart of account and
Product maintenance. Only 1 set of master data can enhance data consistency from time to
time.
