West Middle Hour of Code
On December 8, 2014, students
from West Campus Middle participated in the Hour of
Code. The Hour of Code is a onehour introduction to computer
science, designed to demystify
code and show that anybody can
learn the basics. During the Hour
of Code, which celebrates Computer Science Education Week, students joined in on a
video chat with Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer of
Facebook. Sandberg discussed her
views on the importance of learning computer technology.
the chat. Sheryl Sandberg is a
great role model for women in
technology," said Karen
Finklestein, Technology Teacher
and coordinator for the Hour of
Code at PPCMS West.
"It's important for kids to code
because this is the way of the
future."
