Small Steps to Stewardship:
Spiritual Fitness for 2015
Cindy Nau, Stewardship Director
We begin each new year with the best of intentions, don’t we? We
will get organized, lose a few pounds, read more, try to do more
for others, etc. As we venture into the second week of January,
with a few resolutions already a memory, we can make a binding
resolution to improve our spiritual health and fitness. There are so
many ways to grow closer to our Lord; to improve our connection
with Him. After all, when we are in touch with God’s plan for us,
and we are trying to follow Him, the rest seems to fall into place.
When we are spiritually healthy, the other business of life tends to
make more sense. That doesn’t mean that we don’t have trials or problems. We
just approach these problems with God’s guidance. There is a peace that comes
with surrendering to Him; no matter what we are facing in our lives.
Life is short:
Pray hard !
Here are some paths to “Spiritual Fitness” in the New Year:

Are You Registered
With Our Parish?
Frequently, we remind
new parishioners, as well
as seasonal parishioners,
to register individuals and
families. You belong to our
Faith community, and we would like to welcome you and make you feel part of our family. Registration is necessary and important
for a number of reasons.
(1) It helps the census of the Diocese by
which the Bishop knows how many priests are
needed in a parish. (2) If you are asked to be
a Godparent for Baptism or a sponsor for Confirmation, you need a form which indicates
you are registered and practicing your faith
at Ascension. WE CANNOT PROVIDE YOU
WITH THIS DOCUMENT IF YOU ARE
NOT REGISTERED. (3) Community ServiceHours can be completed only by registered
parishioners. (4) If you are planning to be
married here, registration is necessary.
(5) Registration provides you with more
mailed parish communications other than the
bulletin. (6) Registered parishioners are provided each year with a contribution statement
for tax purposes. Please stop by the Parish
Office to complete a Parish Registration
Form.
