JUNIOR LEADER PROGRAM
Ages 12-17
The Junior Leader program is designed to provide job experience and training to
teens in a fun, learning work environment. JL’s are responsible for assisting our
Recreation Leaders in leading games, arts and crafts, sports, music, and other fun
activities for our numerous Campers (customers).
Applications for JL positions are due by April 24. Summer camps are scheduled
to run from June 8 – August 7. In addition, there are a number of special events
for JL’s in the summer (i.e.: movie nights, mini-golf and other team-bonding
events). There are a limited number of JL positions available. All applicants will be
given an interview. Accepted applicants will be assessed a $90 program fee to
cover costs for JL events.

The Mission Oaks Recreation and Park District has contracted with the Sacramento
County Sheriff’s Department to provide park security since 1985. The primary function
of the Mission Oaks Park Patrol is to patrol the parks and facilities of the park district
and provide law enforcement when and where needed.
