Bridge Fabricators that can be Considered for FLNR Bridge Projects
All fabricated bridge components for ministry bridge projects acquired by the ministry or RUP
holders, to be installed on Forest Service roads (FSRs) or occasionally for other ministry
projects, are required to be manufactured by bridge fabricators that have been determined to
be qualified by the ministry.
Tables 1 and 2 identify bridge fabricators that have had their general qualifications reviewed
and are eligible to be considered for bridge fabrication projects. The listed fabricators have
been reviewed for requisite general qualifications and have demonstrated through past work
that they have the ability and resources to comply with the ministry’s base requirements to
undertake such work. Although eligibility precedes an award process, fabricators on these lists
should have no expectation to be guaranteed award of any work for bridge fabrication.
It is important to note that being on the list is only one step in the determination of whether a
particular fabricator is qualified for a specific project. The qualifications and experience of the
fabricator will need to be evaluated at the time of a proposed project to determine whether the
fabricator meets the specific terms and conditions including having the requisite qualifications
and experience that would be considered of “similar scope and scale” for the specific project.
New fabricator entrants that have not previously, successfully fabricated bridge components for
ministry projects are encouraged to have their general qualifications reviewed and evaluated
by the ministry in advance of consideration for an actual bridge fabrication project.
For bridge projects involving fabrication, a check should be implemented to ensure that the
bridge fabricators are listed in Tables 1 and 2.
Ministry contracts should include language indicating the requirement for bridge fabrication
suppliers to be on the bridge fabricator lists.
To remain on the bridge fabricator lists, fabricators must receive acceptable ratings on any
performance evaluations completed by ministry staff.
