Modular concept for Heavy Duty
generators – fuel-saving solutions
Introduction
More performance with greater fuel economy and
fewer emissions? The modular generator concept from
Bosch makes this possible. With the various features,
Efficiency E

Digital Interface D
the Heavy Duty (HD) generators can meet any power
requirement while opening up new savings potentials
which will benefit drivers, haulers and the environment.

Digital Interface
PWM (pulse width modulation) Interface: for
optimized battery charging
Our established product range of multifunction
regulators has been expanded by a version with a
digital PWM interface. This permits voltage regulation
direct via the engine control unit.
LIN (local interconnect network) Interface:
the smart solution
What is more, Bosch offers for the HD generators a
regulator with bidirectional LIN interface. This makes

back reports on different generator status parameters.
For example the generator can be switched off completely during acceleration. In the boost mode its
performance potential is fully exhausted again. In
addition, the 28 V version incorporates the ability to
synchronize various generators within one electrical
system.

Efficiency: improved efficiency
Due to improvements in the stator geometry and the
magnetic circuit HD-E (Efficiency) generators are characterized by high power output (up to 3.4 kW at 28 V)
with average efficiency of up to 75 % and a maximum of

Power: efficient for high power requirements
HD-P (Power) generators have a higher copper-fill
factor and improved winding geometry. This leads to a
further increase in performance (up to 4.2 kW at 28 V)
