received a cable of thanks from Qatari
Amir shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani
in reply to a cable of congratulations on
his country’s National Day.
n Sirisena congratulated
His Majesty yesterday sent a cable
of congratulations to sri Lankan
President-elect Maithripala sirisena on
his election. His Royal Highness Prime
Minister Prince Khalifa bin salman Al
Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince
salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown
Prince, Deputy supreme Commander
and First Deputy Prime Minister, sent
similar cables.
n Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa
yesterday received Japanese Ambassador Kiyoshi Asako and
discussed co-operation, stressing the importance of activating
bilateral agreements.
n BDF Commander-in-Chief Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa
yesterday received Royal Guard Commander Staff Colonel Shaikh Nasser bin
Hamad Al Khalifa and lauded his efforts to enhance combative readiness of
the Guards.

received a cable of thanks from Pakistani
President Mamnoon Hussain in reply to
his condolences cable on the terrorist attack
against Pakistani Army-run school in
Peshawar. He received a similar cable from
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz sharif.

Khalifa affirmed that Bahrain is keen
on involving the youth in the march of
construction and modernisation and
outlining their major responsibilities in
Bahrain’s comprehensive development
process to promote the King’s reform
project. in a statement to Mayadeen
magazine, Shaikh Nasser said Bahraini
youngsters are the kingdom’s real
assets, through their participation
in various areas of development and
remarkable role in the parliamentary
and municipal elections.
n Deal helps job-seekers
THE Labour Ministry and Asry have
signed a partnership agreement. Under
the deal, Asry will hire 15 high school
graduates (technical stream) who
qualified from the ministry’s project
themed ‘With My Hand i Build My
Country’. Ministry Under-secretary sabah
Al Dossary and Asry chief executive Nils
Kristian Berge signed the agreement, in the
presence of senior officials. Mr Al Dossary
affirmed that signing the agreement
comes within the framework of hiring and
rehabilitating job-seekers in the private
sector, highlighting that the ministry
aims to recruit 10,000 job-seekers in its
project ‘Employment and Rehabilitation
of Bahrainis 2’.
n The BDF Commander-in-Chief yesterday honoured the Royal Special Force
and the Fourth Infantry Regiment which topped the combat and administrative
aptitude test. Minister of Defence Affairs Lieutenant General Yousif bin Ahmed Al
Jalahma, Chief of Staff Lt Gen Dhiab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Royal Guard Commander
Staff Colonel Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and senior officers attended.
n The BDF Commander-in-Chief yesterday received Abdulla
bin Ahmed bin Hindi and sons and exchanged cordial talks.
n The Interior Minister yesterday received parliamentary
secretary general Abdulla Khalaf Al Dosary and discussed
co-operation to strengthen security and stability.
n Interior Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa
yesterday received new officers who took their oath in the presence of Public
Security chief Major General Tariq Al Hassan.
n Labour Minister and Labour Market Regulatory Authority
chairman Jameel Humaidan yesterday received MP Majid
Ibrahim Al Majid and outlined training and employment
projects.
n Energy Minister Dr Abdulhussain Mirza yesterday received Bahrain’s Ambassador
to China Dr Anwar Abdulla and discussed ways of bolstering co-operation in oil and
petrochemicals sectors.
n Expo opens today
THe Berber Women of Morocco Expo
will open today at the Bahrain National
Museum. The exhibition, which will
run until April 15, is being held under
the patronage of Her Royal Highness
Princess sabeeka bint ibrahim Al
Khalifa, wife of His Majesty and
Supreme Council for Women president.
The Culture directorate is organising
the expo in co-operation with Pierre
Berger, Jardin Majorelle’s Musée
Berbère in Marrakech and Musée du
Quai Branly in Paris.
n Garden Bazaar lined up
BAHRAiN Noor El Ain Festival is
collaborating with the popular Farmers’
Market in Budaiya in preparation for
the festival’s Garden Bazaar launching
on saturday. The bazaar, which will
last a week, will feature local celebrity
chefs taking part in a live cooking
demonstration for visitors alongside
Master Chef Bahrain winner Kevin
Denecke from Cucina italiana. Chefs
taking part include Chef Abbas Mahdi
from the Ritz-Carlton, Bushido’s Chef
Noor Murad and Chef Mark Dickey from
the Organic Café.
n Gulf Jurists Forum set
BahraiN will host the second Arab
Gulf Jurists Forum 2015 organised
by Bahrain Bar Society in association
with Actsmart PR Consultancy from
March 3-5.
n Deputised by the Prime Minister, Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi took part
in the final session of the 19th meeting of Arab ministers in charge of cultural affairs
in Riyadh, at the invitation of the Arab League’s Educational, Cultural and Scientific
Organisation. It saw the launch of the Riyadh Declaration and a call to condemn all
sorts of violence and terrorism that target educational institutions, hospitals or civil
sites. The conference also called to boost pan-Arab cultural co-operation.
n The parliament chairman yesterday underlined solid historic relations between
Bahrain and Britain. He was speaking as he received British Ambassador Iain
Lindsay, in the presence of parliament’s first deputy chairman Ali Al Aradi and
embassy head of political affairs department Melanie Scarlett. Mr Al Mulla
stressed the importance of promoting parliamentary co-operation with the British
House of Commons and availing of British parliamentary experience. Both sides
discussed Arab and international issues of common interest, including the need
to foster regional security and stability and combat terrorism.
n Parliament chairman Ahmed Al Mulla highlighted
Bahrain’s steady strides in democratic development and
preservation of human rights culture as guaranteed by royal
reforms. This came as he received Riyadh-based Denmark
Ambassador Ole Freese Massen. He commended bilateral
relations and the need to promote co-operation in political,
economic, cultural and parliamentary fields.
n Shura Council chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh yesterday received
the British Ambassador and discussed parliamentary and
democratic process. They also exchanged views on latest
regional and international developments. He separately received
Iraqi Ambassador Ahmed Al Dulaimi.
