The offer of an ITE course to applicants is subject to them being physically, medically and mentally fit to pursue the
course. This is to ensure that all students can benefit from ITE training in a safe and conducive environment.
Applicants or students assessed by ITE as being unfit can be withdrawn from the course. Where appropriate, they
may be considered for other courses if there are suitable ones. For further assistance on course advising before the
submission of application, please call the ITE Customer Service Hotline on Tel 1800-2255-483.
Notes:

Applicants applying for these courses must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency. Colour
vision test will be conducted for applicants enrolled into these courses. Colour vision test is available over the
Internet and at the ITE Colleges conducting these courses. Please take the test before submitting your
application if you are not sure whether you are free from colour appreciation deficiency.
SPECIAL ADMISSIONS EXERCISE (SAE)

ITE also conducts a Special Admissions Exercise for admission to the following Higher Nitec course. Interested
applicants may apply directly at the ITE College offering the course by the application period during office hours
(8am to 6pm from Mon to Fri). The exact application dates will be published in The Straits Times, The New
Paper and the ITE website following the release of 2014 GCE ‘O’ Level Examination results. Applicants may be
offered a course under the Nitec progression intake and another course under the SAE. Applicants who are
offered courses under both Nitec progression intake and SAE can decide to accept one of the 2 offers. All
offers that are not taken up by the stipulated date given will lapse.
Higher Nitec in Filmmaking (Cinematography)
Applicants who wish to progress to Higher Nitec in Filmmaking (Cinematography) course are required to apply
directly at ITE College Central under the Special Admissions Exercise. Applicants applying for this course
must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency and physical deficiency and may check
directly with ITE College Central for more information. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview
before the final selection.

Higher Nitec in Interactive Design
Applicants who wish to progress to Higher Nitec in Interactive Design course are required to apply directly at
ITE College Central under the Special Admissions Exercise. Applicants applying for this course must ensure
that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency and may check directly with ITE College Central for more
information. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview before the final selection.
Graduates from Nitec in Interactive Media Design and Nitec in Visual Communication with cumulative GPA of
2.3 and above may also submit online application for progression to the Higher Nitec in Interactive Design
course following the release of 2014 GCE ‘O’ Levels Examination Results in January 2015. Interested
applicants may visit www.ite.edu.sg, click on “Apply for ITE Courses”, then click on "Application for Full-Time
Higher Nitec Courses for April 2015 Intake", and follow the instructions to submit their online application.
Higher Nitec in Performance Production
Applicants who wish to progress to Higher Nitec in Performance Production course are required to apply
directly at ITE College Central under the Special Admissions Exercise. Applicants applying for this course
must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency, hearing deficiency and acrophobia (fear of
height). Applicants who are interested to apply for the course may check directly with ITE College Central for
more information. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview before the final selection.
Higher Nitec in Visual Merchandising
Applicants who wish to progress to Higher Nitec in Visual Merchandising course are required to apply directly at
ITE College Central under the Special Admissions Exercise. Applicants applying for this course must ensure
that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency and may check directly with ITE College Central for more
information. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an aptitude test and interview before the final
selection.

Progression to Higher Nitec courses is based on relevancy of Nitec qualification to Higher Nitec courses applied,
merits and subject to vacancies. Depending on your progression eligibility, you can apply for Yr 1 Entry or Yr 2
Entry or both Yr 1 Entry and Yr 2 Entry to Higher Nitec courses in your application choices.

Successful students for the Higher Nitec in Information Technology course will be required to purchase Tablet
which will cost about $500 – 1,200 for the 2-year course. This is in addition to the course fees. Financial
assistance is available for eligible students subject to terms and conditions.

Successful students for the Higher Nitec in Interactive Design course will be required to purchase a Laptop that
will cost about $500 – 2,250 for the 2-year course. This is in addition to the course fees. Financial assistance is
available for eligible students subject to terms and conditions. Apple Macbook Pro is recommended for
academic and professional works.
NATIONAL SERVICE (NS) DEFERMENT
National Service (NS) liable males who wish to pursue full-time ITE courses in 2015 and were born in the year 1994 or
earlier for Nitec graduates progressing to Higher Nitec courses will have to check their eligibility for NS Deferment at
the Central Manpower Base (CMPB). Students who are not eligible for NS deferment will need to withdraw from the
course that they are enrolled.
