Junior High School Girls All-Star Game
We at Heart of Illinois AAU Basketball Program will be sponsoring a Girls Junior High All-Star Game inviting coaches
and players from 2014 school teams across the State to participate. We have been fortunate as a program to have many of
our players compete on school teams over the past several years on State Championship teams, State contenders, City
Championships, and many teams/players advancing to Sectionals. We have had players compete on Canton, Bartonville
Monroe, Blessed Sacrament Morton, Brimfield, Eureka, Germantown Hills, Glasford Illini Bluffs, Green Valley Midwest
Central, Lewistown, Morton, to name a few. We have seen and even participated in All-Star games in the past and would
like the opportunity this year to take the Junior High All-Star Game to another level.
Although we are an AAU program we view this event as solely for and in celebration of school team players and coaches.
We are very proud of our local area teams, coaches, and players as well as coaches and teams that we see during the
spring and summer months. We know the hard work and commitment it takes to be successful at the school level and as a
program we will feel our purpose is to be another aide in preparing players for their upcoming school seasons. Our area
players have enjoyed having the opportunity to participate in All-Star events in the past and we want to not only enhance
their enjoyment, but also share it with as many other players and coaches throughout the state.

All-Star Game Details
Nomination of Players
We will be asking school coaches to nominate players from their school team for 2 divisions; 7th Grade & 8th Grade. We
will take input from area coaches, parents, and fans interested in nominating a player – the school coach contact will be
needed in order to be given full consideration.
Coaches
We will be looking for 2 coaches to co-coach each one of our 2 teams in each age group, so looking for a total of at least 4
7th Grade & 4 8th Grade school coaches. We will be looking for school coaches who led their teams to State, City,
improved records, and notable accomplishments this year. If you are interested in nominating a school coach or are a
school coach and are interesting please let us know. Again be sure to include contact information.
Teams
We will have 2 teams of 10 in each age group for a total of 20 players in each age group. Being an All-Star Game we want
the players to play as much as possible. We will expand to 2 more teams and hold a second game if needed/possible.
Uniforms
We will designate Home & Away Teams for each of the games. We will be asking players to wear their school uniform to
represent their school during the games. Be sure to obtain permission from your school coaches and administration to be
able to wear your school uniform for the game.
Cost
No cost for players participating. We do not believe in charging players for their participation in the All-Star event. We
feel these players have earned and deserved the opportunity to participate in this one of a kind event. We will be charging
a fee at the door for spectators and will have a concession stand.

Peoria High School – Girls Gym (High School Sized, Wood Floor) 1615 N North St, Peoria, IL 61604
Game Format
4 Quarters, 8 minutes, stopped clock on whistles, and 4 time outs per team. All other IESA rules will apply. IESA/IHSA
Patched Officials.
Practice
There will be practice opportunities for each team. The days, times, and location will be up to the coaches of that team.
Awards
MVP of each Game. Participation Medal for each Player.
Waiver
Each participating player will be required to fill out a waiver form & must be turned in prior to participation.
Trainer
We will have a trainer onsite.
