Job Description: Posting Details Alliant Energy is currently recruiting for a Customer Operations Assistant to work in our
Burlington, IA office. Candidate will perform administrative activities associated with the department or field location,
handling confidential matters with discretion. The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree AND one or more years
of professional experience in clerical, word processing, or administrative support. Individual will also be able to type 40
wpm and have MS Office software experience - candidates will be tested. Preferred hours; Monday through Friday 7:00
a.m. to 3:30 p.m., however, would be flexible with hours if need be. No relocation will be offered for this position. Job
Responsibilities Supports the consistent operations of the office based on company policy and procedure guidelines.
Develops and/or maintains basic computer applications, including documents, forms, spreadsheets, charts, graphics, and
presentations. May be responsible to track, maintain and monitor operations files, contracts and documentation in
compliance with regulatory requirements and assist with required audit and data requests as d irected. Corresponds and
maintains positive and effective relationships with internal personnel, outside agencies, customers, vendors, and other
organizations. Handles routine information requests, gives and takes messages for supervisor and office employe es, and
serves as a contact point and resource for office employees. Utilizing appropriate judgment and with direction, opens and
routes mail; handles and composes routine administrative correspondence, such as emails, letters, memos, reports, and
summaries. Transcribes routine meeting notes and handwritten information, and proofs documents. Processes confidential
information and documents, and handles confidential matters with discretion. Provides routine information and assistance
to employees relating to human resource information (i.e., benefits, employee orientation, bargaining unit agreements,
service/safety awards). May be responsible for human resource information system activities, including the review and
entry of timesheets, payroll, and data correction and other personnel forms. May handle personnel, medical and statistical
information, which may be used for grievances, arbitrations, contract negotiations, and/or employee and labor compliance
related matters. Coordinates business travel arrangements, including itinerary, registration, transportation, and
accommodations. Arranges and coordinates internal and external meetings, including meeting materials, facility,
equipment, and technology arrangements. Assists in arranging access, scheduling and c oordinating training for both new
and current employees on various business procedures and systems. Monitors inventory of office supplies and basic

equipment for the office and coordinates restocking procedures as requested. Performs special projects as as signed,

Assists supervisor and office employees to achieve company financial goals by scrutinizing expenditures for errors and/or
identifying avenues to reduce expenses. May process invoices, vouchers, requisitions, and expense reports for supervisor
and office employees. May be required to work outside regular work schedule on occasion. Performs all other duties as
assigned. Job Qualifications Education and/or experience equivalent to a two year degree from an accredited college or
university, with emphasis in word processing, clerical support, administrative support or related area preferred. A minimum
of one year technical and/or professional experience in clerical, word processing, or administrative support. Demonstrated
basic to intermediate proficiency in the use of office equipment and computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Outlook). Basic to intermediate knowledge of internet web browsers. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint preferred.
Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat (PDF) software preferred. Demonstrated ability to type at a minimum of 40 words per
minute. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Basic knowledge of utility
operations, safety, and energy industry terminology preferred. Familiarity with bargaining unit contracts and terminology
preferred. Basic proficiency in grammar, spelling, punctuation, proofreading. Ability to perform accuratel y and effectively
