Loving, Learning & Living In Christ
Spirit of the Stage
Our award-winning Spirit of the Stage group gained
another accolade this weekend at the Atlanta Junior
Theater Festival. The 2014-15 group brought home
the Excellence in Music Award for their 15-minute performance of an excerpt from Annie, Jr. The
performance included such well-known songs as
“Hard Knock Life” and “Tomorrow”. Travis Settoon and Laine Lonero received All-Star recognition and now have the opportunity to travel to New
York City this summer for a weeklong workshop
to perform a new musical with iTheatrics. Chloe
Partridge, Rachel Schnadalbach, Allie Ferrara, and
Sarah Labbe’ participated in the Tech Olympics
and placed 3rd. Broadway Slam participants were
Coyt Bailey, Andrew Loyacano, and Mia Bachemin.
The festival was attended this year by 4500 students
from all over the country. They were able to witness
everything from Broadway performers to meeting
lyricists to seeing other people their own age perform many different productions they had prepared
for judging. The highlight of the weekend’s per-

Frozen’s “Let it Go” perform their song and hearing Megan Hilty (Glenda from “Wicked”) perform
“For Good” with a 14-year old festival participant.

Washington, D.C. Trip
On January 12 through 16, 2015, the eighth grade

about were: The Capitol, Arlington Cemetery (four
students were able to put a wreath on the Tomb of the
Unknown Soldier), Mount Vernon, The Holocaust
Museum, The Newseum, The Vietnam Wall, Martin
Luther King Memorial, along with all the presidential and war memorials. The students represented
Holy Ghost well throughout the trip. Wherever we
went compliments were given. It was an educational
