BOWl XLIX New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks at the University of
Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Arizona.
US fans can watch Super Bowl XLIX play out live nationwide with kickoff time set
for 1:30 p.m. HST on NBC network. Good luck to both teams!

Here's What's Going On at Iao School
1. Quarter 2/1st Semester Report Cards Distributed on Friday,
January 23, 2015.
Please have your child see his/her homeroom teacher for the report card if he/she
was absent last week Friday.
2. Maui District Spelling Bee Winners
Congratulations to 7th grader Jason Huynh, who placed 3rd and 6th grader
Michael Wong, placed 4th in the Maui District Spelling Bee last Thursday at
Baldwin high School Auditorium. The top two spellers are sisters from
Emmanuel Lutheran and will advance to the State competition on Oahu.
Good luck to both girls! Our students do not advance to State competition.
3. STAR Reading Testing for all students this week, January
26-30
Parents/Guardians are asked to make sure your child goes to bed early, comes to school on time,
has a healthy breakfast, and a great attitude.
4. "My Valentine" Box Tops Homeroom Contest starts

5. 4th
Annual Maui 5K Run at Ma'alaea Triangle
Mark your calendars for Sunday March 29th, 2015 at 7:00 a.m. and come
join us to raise funds for the Iao School P.E. Department. There will be a
ChampionChip/MyLaps timed 5K race and a fun, untimed 1 Mile Run/
Walk for Keiki and adults. The Maui 5K seeks to promote health and
fitness from Hawaii's children by giving the schools the ability to increase
participation in youth sports by providing additional funds to maintain or
purchase new equipment for their physical fitness programs. Proceeds
from the event will be distributed back to the participating schools.

Ages: 14-18. Learn the basic structure of an iPhone App and the tools you’ll need to create one. By the end of class, you’ll have an App that displays graphics, updates text, and reacts to your

specific game design, students will work solo to create a 2-D version of their
characters using an extended script. $59
