Function 1 – How to Insert a Table
1. Place your mouse over where you want the table to appear, then select the
Insert tab.
2. Click the Table command.
3. A drop-down menu containing a grid of squares will appear. Hover the mouse
over the grid to select the number of columns and rows in the table.
4. Click the mouse and the table will appear in the document.
5. You can now place the insertion point anywhere in the table to add text.

6. You can also insert a table by clicking on “Insert Table” underneath the grid of
squares.
7. Next, manually enter the number of rows and columns you would like to
appear in your table.
8. Click “ok” and your table will appear in your document.

Function 2 – How to Insert a Shape
1. Select the Insert tab and click the Shapes command. A drop-down menu of
shapes will appear.
2. Select the desired shape.

3. Click, hold and drag in the desired location to add the shape to your document.
*If desired, you can enter text in a shape. When the shape appears in your
document, you can simply begin typing. You can then use the formatting options
on the Home tab to change the font, font size, or color of the text.

Function 3 – How to Format Text
CHANGING THE FONT
1. Select the text you wish to modify.
2. On the Home tab, click the drop-down arrow next to the Font box. A menu
of font styles will appear.
3. Move the mouse over the various font styles. A live preview of the font will
appear in the document. Select the font style you wish to use.

4. The font will change in the document.
CHANGING THE FONT COLOR
1. Select the text you wish to modify.
2. On the Home tab, click the Font Color drop-down arrow. The Font Color
menu appears.
3. Move the mouse over the various font colors. A live preview of the color
will appear in the document.

Function 4 – Formatting a Table
INSERTING A ROW OR COLUMN
1. Right-click the table and then hover the mouse over Insert to see various
row and column options.
2. A new row or column will appear in the table.

ADDING A BORDER TO A TABLE
1. Select the cells you wish to add a border to.
2. From the Design tab, select the desired Line Style, Line Weight, and Pen
Color.
3. Click the Borders drop-down arrow.

4. Select the desired border type from the menu that appears.
5. The border will appear around the selected cells.

Function 5 – How to Create a Bulleted List
1. Select the text you wish to format as a list.
2. On the Home tab, click the drop-down arrow next to the Bullets command.
A menu of bullet styles will appear.
3. Move the mouse over the various bullet styles. A live preview of the bullet
style will appear in the document. Select the bullet style you wish to use.

4. The text will be formatted as the bulleted list.
