IMPORTANT DATE & DEADLINES:







Voter Registration : 1 February to 28 February 2015
Nomination submission : 1 March to 5 March 2015
Nomination withdrawal (Within): 7 March 2015
Nomination declaration: 8 March 2015
Campaign period: Following declaration to 23 March 2015
Election timeline: 26 & 27 March 2015
Change in any timeline will be communicated duly on the BRACU Website
VOTING GUIDELINES:
Following the voter registration deadline each voter will be provided with a unique password which will
be sent to the verified voter's email address. Each voter will have to vote for every EC position. "NO
VOTE" option will be available against each position. Votes can be cast online from any location. Similar
online facilities will be available at BRAC University Campus from 9AM to 5PM on both voting days. Voting
system will be completely electronic.
RESULT DECLARATION: 28 MARCH 2015
Results will be published on the BRAC University Website.
NOMINATION CRITERIA:
1. Position: President
No of position: 1
Convocation Year: 2006-09
Convocation attended: 1 to 4
Work experience: 5+
Minimum CGPA: 3
Co-curricular: Proven leadership skills based on cross check with student affairs; will be verified after your nomination
Disciplinary records: Nominees must not have any disciplinary record during study period
Residence: Must live in Bangladesh
Acceptable BRACU degree: An Undergraduate degree from BRACU is mandatory
2. Position: Secretary
No of position: 1
Convocation Year: 2006-11
Convocation attended:1-5
Work experience:4+
Minimum CGPA: 3
Co-curricular: Proven leadership skills based on cross check with student affairs; will be verified after your nomination
Disciplinary records: Nominees must not have any disciplinary record during study period
Residence: Must live in Bangladesh
Acceptable BRACU degree: An Undergraduate degree from BRACU is mandatory
3. Position: Treasurer
No of position: 1
Convocation Year: 2006-11
Convocation attended: 1 to 5
Work experience: 3+ years
Minimum CGPA: 3
Co-curricular: Proven leadership skills based on cross check with student affairs; will be verified after your nomination
Disciplinary records: Nominees must not have any disciplinary record during study period
Residence: Must live in Bangladesh

4. Position: Executive Members
No of positions: 7
Convocation Year: 2006 - 2013
Convocation attended: 1 to 8
Work experience:2+ Years
Minimum CGPA: 3

Disciplinary records: Nominees must not have any disciplinary record during study period
Residence: Must live in Bangladesh
Acceptable BRACU degree: An Undergraduate degree from BRACU is mandatory
**The Election Commission reserves all power to bring any necessary change in the nomination criteria without any prior
notice. The decision of Election Commission will be final in all matters related to nomination declaration or cancellation.
CAMPAIGNING GUIDELINES
1. A3 sized Posters can only be used in the university campus. Posters must be endorsed by Election
Commission. Endorsed campaign material will be published as a separate list. Posters must contain name,
picture, graduating department, convocation year, electoral manifesto, enrollment year and semester
information. Posters cannot contain any derogatory remarks or offensive implications towards any person,
nominee, candidate, competitor, administration, pro cess related to BRAC University
2. Campaign on Facebook - candidates can open a page/group for campaigning. Official announcement of all
selected candidates will be made through BRACU website & official FB page. Candidates may post their page
links on the BRACU FB page. No polls are allowed for any candidate to test acceptance/popularity.
3. No group based demonstration or subversive campaign in or around the campus or any other location
where the election information may be uncontrollably spread, will be allowed. National daily, newspaper, or
related media, TV, radio , etc. cannot be used for campaign.
4. Peaceful campaigns on campus can be run with the prior permission of Election Commission (EC).
5. Bulk SMS/email messaging is allowed. Brochures are allowed.
6. BRACU alumni page will have a section, where all nominees will have an allocated space containing their
name, photo, convocation year, enrollment semester and year and a 75 word message on why they should
be voted (applicable for all nominees for every position). This must be submitted to EC during nomination
submission. This info will be automatically uploaded to the BRACU website based on who are the selected
nominees.
7. OCSAR or BRACU administration will not provide any database for election campaign.
8. Breach of any campaign guidelines will tend to cancel nomination by Election Commission.
9. Election Commission preserves the right to cancel any nomination based on any dubious
information/claim/accusation, etc. Nominee will be given a chance to explain the situation once EC contacts
the accused. Election Commission's decision in any regards is final.
