CA Workload Automation AE Incremental
CA Workload Automation AE
Incremental Release 11.3.6 SP01
At a Glance
CA Workload Automation AE (formerly known as CA AutoSys®) improves the availability of critical
application workloads across the enterprise by dynamically responding to real time business events,
mapping workload processes to service level agreements, ensuring continual monitoring and
automating recovery. It enhances visibility and control by providing a single point of control for
managing and visualizing a business process end-to-end across platforms. Dynamic workload
placement across physical, virtual and cloud resources allows you to optimize infrastructure usage and
increase business responsiveness. Out-of-the-box integrations with leading business applications
eliminate the need to create and manage custom scripts resulting in lower operating costs.
Key Features

Agent Health Monitoring: The CA Workload Automation AE scheduler monitors agent health by
communicating with one or more agents and support notification of the disk space usage when
defined thresholds are breached.

SNMP Traps: Additional SNMP trap details are added through the varbinds to support values such
as group, application, box name, run machine, run number, n-try in the job related traps.

Set Job Status During Definition: Provides ability to set the initial status of a job at the time of
definition so that the job can be prevented from running upon insertion. This is an optional
attribute and the default value is “INACTIVE”.

Log File Management: Automated management of scheduler, application server and aggregator
logs to limit retention. The LOGROLLOVER parameter can be configured to specify that all log files
that are older than the specified number of days are purged at midnight.

Enable Core Files: Allows core files to be created, should any of the CA Workload Automation AE
processes crash making it easier to determine the root cause of the problem.

CA EEM Reporting Utility: A background process that

Reads CA EEM audit log files and imports event data into an audit database. Optionally, the
service also deletes audit data from the database after a specified period of time and
archives the data to an auxiliary data set.
INCREMENTAL RELEASE OVERVIEW


Allows users to produce customized audit reports in PDF and/or CSV file formats for more
detailed reporting or analysis.
New Databases and Platform Support: Provide supports for listed databases and platforms

Oracle 12c

MS SQL Server 2014

Solaris x86 Client
Key Benefits

More control over generated alarms to reduce the time to resolve problems. SNMP traps extended to
better identify the alarm and improve automation. Email notification has also been extended to include
application and group values.

Automated way of log management thereby managing file systems running tight on space which results in
slowdowns or even outages. Configuration settings enable purging the server log files to limit the number of
days to retain the log files.

Better notification of disk space usage on the agent machine when a set tolerance threshold is breached.
This helps users to take corrective measures when monitoring agent health.

Improved job definition with initial terminal status. It is useful for users who

Want to define a job ON_ICE so that it does not run until you are ready to activate it.

Want to migrate jobs from the previous versions of CA Workload Automation AE while retaining the
job status from the source system.
Incremental Release Program
The CA Technologies Incremental Release program is a delivery model where new product features are
developed and released using the Agile development methodology. This enables us to deliver
enhancements more quickly to customers so they can begin to derive value from these enhancements. An
incremental release may include several enhancements as well as defect corrections. Please note that
although there may be multiple incremental releases prior to the final release, the product release number
will not change. Customers can enroll in the Incremental Release program at any time during the release
cycle; whenever you enroll you will receive all the enhancements delivered up to that point. CA supports
incremental releases in accordance with the CA Incremental Release Program Support Policy and Terms.
