Spiritual Transformation Ministry
Admiral Awesome loves to help other people! Prof.
Peabody wants him to know that Jesus came to
help us, and when we help others, we can share
God’s love. Join us this week as we learn more of
Jesus’ ministry of healing, praying and preaching
(Mark 1:29-39). Super Kids! is a mid-week ministry for children in 1st through 5th grades. We meet Wednesdays from
6:30 to 7:45 PM, immediately following the 6:00 family dinner in the Prince of Peace fellowship area. Kids can start at

Pastor Dave is teaching a short course (through February 22)
in the Chapel between services, starting at 9:45 AM. The
majority of the class will be spent studying what God’s
Word has to say regarding the subject of healing.
Subjects covered include: reasons for sickness; purposes of
God in healing; what healing is; involvements in the practice
of healing; factors outlined in James 5:14-16; basis for practicing healing today; spiritual gifts of healing; and healing and
the will of God. Healing in regard to Isaiah 53 - and healing
in the atonement of Christ - will be covered. There’ll be encouragement for the practice of healing as part of the visitor’s
tool kit. Eucharistic visitors, spiritual caregivers, and any who
desire to be involved in, or learn about, visiting those who are
ill, homebound, in hospice, rehabilitation centers and hospitals are encouraged to come learn and participate in the discussion.
Operation Christmas Child 2015 –
February items of the month are toothpaste,
individually packaged toothbrushes, hair brushes,
combs, ponytail elastics, barrettes, headbands,
and other “hair stuff.” Please remember that items
need to be NEW and un-used. Thank you!
RLC Library News: Thank you for the many donations in
2014. Over 100 books were added to our shelves last year,
something in almost every category. A selection of these will
be displayed each month this coming year on the counter in
the room off our narthex.
Our Wednesday night small group with Pastors Steve
and Corey is going through the DVD series “Sacred Parenting: How Raising Children Shapes Our Souls” by Gary Thomas. Parenting a child is an in-depth course on spiritual formation, expressly designed by God to shape your soul in ways
you cannot imagine. What if one of God’s primary intentions
for you as a parent isn’t about successfully raising perfect children, but about you becoming more holy? Sacred Parenting
helps you look at parenting from a different perspective. In
this six-session video group study, designed for use with the
Sacred Parenting Participant’s Guide, award-winning author
Gary Thomas offers a roadmap to spiritual growth through
the children that God has given you to parent. Sacred Parenting will help you and your group learn how God can transform
dirty diapers, a toddler’s tantrums, and a teenager’s silence in
order to transform you into a person who reflects the image of
Christ. We meet Wednesday evenings at 6:30-7:45 PM
in the chapel. Childcare is provided.
The LCMC NW District Gathering will be held at Calvary
Lutheran Church in Kalispell, MT, on April 17-19. Early registration cost is $50 per person before March 17. For more details see the poster on the bulletin board in the Resource Center in the Prince of Peace fellowship area. If you are planning
to attend, please let the church office know.
Save the date! The Annual High School Youth Beach Trip
Fundraiser Dinner is coming soon! Friday, March 6, at
6:00 PM. Cost is $15 for adults and $7 for children (12 years
old and younger). Join us for an exciting evening of food and

Actual weekly offering for last weekend: $12,242.06
Children’s Church - Imagine hearing God’s voice coming
from a cloud in the sky and seeing Jesus change right before
your eyes! What would you do? This week in Children’s
Church we’ll hear the story of the transfiguration. (From the
Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke)
Today is “Scout Sunday” – The Boy Scouts of America designates the Sunday that falls on or before February 8 (the anniversary of the founding of Scouting in the United States) as
Scout Sunday. To honor the twelfth tenant of the Boy Scout
Law, “A Scout is Reverent”, Troop 248 will serve as greeters,
ushers and lecturer for today’s worship services and will host
Hebrews Café between services. If you or anyone you know is
interested in what the RLC Troop does, please come to Hebrews Cafe! Please recognize these Scouts when you see them
today.
Lenten Worship Series - During this year’s season of Lent,
we will be considering church membership. What are your
presuppositions, what are your practices, what are your attitudes as a member of Richland Lutheran Church? Do you
know what God’s word says about church membership? Did
you know the Bible talks about church membership? We will
work together, using the book “I Am a Church Member” as a
guide and resource to help us discover or rediscover the privilege and joy of church membership as the Bible teaches.
February 15 - Being a Functioning Church Member
February 22 - Being a Unifying Church Member
March 1 - Surrendering My Preferences and Desires
March 8 - Praying for My Church Leaders
March 15 - Leading My Family to be Healthy Church Members
March 22 - Treasuring Church Membership as a Gift
Prayer Ministry - We are adding lay persons to write and
present prayers or petitions for the people during worship. We each come with a unique personality and burden on
our heart that our Father has placed there. God has placed it
there for a reason. Someone sitting next to you will
hear your words and be moved in ways you may not actually
see. Prayerfully consider participating in worship this way just
one time. We need to hear from men, women, youth for all the
seasons in life. This part of worship is unfolding for us at this
time. If you are interested in participating, call the church
office or sign up on the yellow worship slip.

Food Pantry – Thank you for all the donations to our food
pantry. It is very much appreciated! In December, we served
140 individuals and in January, 180. Any nonperishable
food is welcome, but please, no outdated foods.
Join us at HeBrews Café for coffee and fellowship in the Prince of Peace Fellowship
area. The Boy Scouts will be hosting the
Café today. People love the fellowship in the Café
and everyone’s participation is appreciated. The
sign-up board is in the narthex. Generally plan for
about 80 people, and you don’t have to worry about coffee.
If you are interested in becoming a member of RLC, please
attend the New Members Class today between services
at 9:45 AM in the Friendship Room. You will also need
to fill out a membership application, which can be found in
the Resource Center in the Prince of Peace fellowship area.

11:00 AM service.
