Buttery Menu - Sayre School

Did you know?
Sayre School helps our
neighbors in a number of
ways. While we give a lot
of thought to production
planning to limit the
amount of waste,
leftovers are inevitable.
We take our leftovers to
two area shelters, The
Catholic Action Center
and The Lighthouse
Ministries.
We also partner with The
Lighthouse to feed the
areas homeless during
the holidays. One day
before Thanksgiving and
one day before
Christmas, we open the
Buttery to feed 250-375
each day. Sayre School
sponsors the
Thanksgiving meal
entirely; one family
donates all of the
turkeys, and every
student brings in a can or
box of food for us to
serve. We also collect
hundreds of pairs of
socks.
For many years, one day
each fall, the 4th grade
helps me prepare 25
gallons of soup for The
Catholic Action Center.
They look forward to
getting the “Sayre Soup.”
