The Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (“NAMFISA; the Authority”) is an
independent institution established by virtue of Act No. 3 of 2001 to regulate and
supervise non-banking financial institutions in Namibia as mandated by various acts of
Parliament.

IT TECHNICIAN
Information and Communication Technology Division
Paterson Job Grade C2
THE POSITION REPORTS TO THE MANAGER: IT SECURITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE
JOB PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to install and/or maintain computer hardware, software and
network for the Authority.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 Configuration, maintenance and upgrading of user equipment;
 Deploy user IT equipment, and maintain the list of user-deployed equipment;
 Identify user training needs;
 Explain to users how to avoid recurring problems in the future;
 Keep abreast with technological developments through the media, magazines and other
sources.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
 Successful completion (and passing) of two years of IT studies at tertiary level;
 At least two (2) years’ proven experience as an IT Technician OR successful passing of both
N+ and A+ certification.

 Microsoft Windows Server Infrastructure
 Windows Desktop environment
 Local Area Networks Setup
 User equipment configurations
 Basic IT Security
 How to look for help and support








REMUNERATION:
