We are pleased to provide you with a copy of the 2015 Seasonal Camping Package, including an updated
Seasonal Campers’ Guide and other documents to help you in applying for a seasonal campsite. Important
modifications to the guide have been highlighted for easy recognition.

2015 Seasonal Campers’ Guide
Manitoba’s provincial parks offer everyone the enjoyment of outdoor living and an opportunity to be close to
nature. Our campgrounds are managed to ensure that everybody has a pleasant stay.
Resource Officers and Park Patrol Officers work in our parks to ensure a peaceful, safe and enjoyable camping
experience for everyone. Rules and applicable policies are established under The Provincial Parks Act and
Regulations and are laid out in the Seasonal Campers’ Guide and the Campers’ Guide and must be observed by
all park users.
Failure to comply with these rules may result in enforcement actions by Resource Officers or Park Patrol Officers
and could include:

CAMPING SEASON
1. Permit: Seasonal campsites are intended for use by the permit holder and immediate family (which is
generally defined as parent(s) and their children under the age of 18 with the possible addition of a
grandparent or similar, immediate relative).
The seasonal camping permit grants the permit holder the right to occupy a specified campsite for the period
listed on the enclosed schedule of Seasonal Camping Dates and Prices.
Your seasonal camping fee covers the term of your seasonal camping permit (the start and end dates referred
to as units-on to units-off dates).
In the event that you are permitted to occupy your seasonal site either before the units-on or after the unitsoff dates of your seasonal camping permit, you must obtain a nightly camping permit and pay the applicable
nightly camping fees.
If your camping unit is on site without a valid permit before or after the term of your seasonal camping permit,
you are subject to all of the following:

2. Transfers and Refunds: Seasonal camping permits are neither transferable nor refundable.
The renting, subletting or assigning of camping units, camping privileges or campsites is not permitted.
At the Beginning of the Season
3. Siting Your Camping Unit: Camping units must be placed on site within 22 days of campground opening
(see enclosed Seasonal Camping Dates and Prices). In the event that you are unable to site your camping unit
by the specified units on date, the permit holder must inform the appropriate district office (see enclosed
Department Contact List). Failure to comply could result in the cancellation of the camping permit.

and display a valid licence. Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship reserve the right to verify licence

YOUR 2015 CAMPSITE
In order to be considered occupied, a campsite must contain one of the following camping units: tent, tent-trailer,
camper-truck, camping trailer, fifth-wheel or motor home. Only one camping unit per campsite is permitted.
Please refer to 2015 Seasonal Campers’ Guide Equipment and Structures located at the back of this guide for
further information on what is permitted on your campsite. Over the years, there has been increased use of
equipment and structures that are not permitted at campsites. The result is damage to campsites and the
surrounding trees and ground cover. This guide intends to minimize the impact on the camping environment
while providing ample accommodation for your camping experience.

allowable footprint of all allowable structures on a campsite cannot exceed 460 sq. ft. Campsites must not be
modified or enlarged in any way by the destruction or removal of existing natural features, or the movement of
curbs, timbers or boulders placed for site definition.
Site inspections will be conducted by regional staff in early June to identify any issues pertaining to allowable
structures, equipment or camping footprint. If a campsite is deemed non-compliant, the permit holder must
resolve any concerns within two weeks of inspection or risk forfeiture of his/her seasonal camping permit
without compensation and/or disqualification from next season’s draw.
If you are temporarily removing your camping unit for a period of time (e.g. vacation) you must submit a
Notification of Removal of Camping Unit from Seasonal Campground form (available at your local district office)
to the Campground Office or the District Office. This document must be signed by a local District Officer.
If a request to temporarily remove your unit is not on file, the site may be deemed vacant, your permit
cancelled and the site redistributed.
CAMPGROUND ETIQUETTE
1. Quiet Time: Please observe the campground quiet time between 11 p.m. and 9 a.m. and refrain from using
any equipment during this time.
/PJTFBOE%JTUVSCBODFT Permit holders must ensure that they, and other people occupying the site, do not

noise or disturbance, as determined by an officer, is not permitted at any time. This includes fighting, yelling,
playing loud music, using insulting or obscene language, drunkenness, or other disturbances such as
damaging the property. Failure to comply with these rules will result in enforcement actions by Resource
Officers or Park Patrol Officers which may include being charged for creating a public disturbance under the
Park Activities Regulations (set fine of $673.65) and/or being evicted from all provincial parks for a period of up
to 21 days. More serious disturbances could result in a charge for breach of peace under the Criminal Code
and/or a ban from all provincial parks for one year.

prolonged generator use during the day can be very disturbing to your neighbour and is not allowed.

and on his/her assigned site, and in accordance with the requirements of The Liquor Control Act and under
The Provincial Parks Act and Regulations.
Remember: Possession and/or consumption of liquor is prohibited in all provincial campgrounds from
Thursday to Monday of the May long weekend.

6. Entering the Campground after 11 p.m.: Only permit holders returning to their designated campsites are
allowed into campgrounds after 11 p.m. Vehicles entering campgrounds after 11 p.m. may be restricted.

within the allowable equipment and structures. The permit holder is responsible for the conduct of all persons
using the site, regardless of whether or not those persons use the site with or without the permission of the
permit holder.
8. Only One Motor Vehicle per Campsite: Visitors to your campsite must leave their vehicles in designated
parking areas. Only one vehicle is permitted on each campsite unless approved by an officer.
CAMPGROUND SAFETY
1. Children at Play: Please use caution when driving your vehicle or moving your camping unit.

%P/PU'FFE8JMEMJGF Feeding wildlife can be harmful to both the animals and people who come into
contact with them and as such is not allowed.
Bears can cause serious injury and damage property. No matter how tame they appear to be, they are wild
animals. Do not harass them, or leave food or garbage out. Report a nuisance bear to an officer or the
campground office. Please clean all cooking surfaces (barbeques, stoves, picnic tables, etc.) regularly as
leftover food will also attract wildlife.
Due to increased incidents of problem wildlife, including bears, bird feeders are no longer permitted in
seasonal campgrounds.
4. Emergency Removal of Equipment: "MMTUSVDUVSFTBOEFRVJQNFOUNVTUCFNBJOUBJOFEJOBNPWFBCMF
state in the event that such an evacuation is necessary. Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship
reserves the right to evacuate all campers in the event of an emergency.
5. Campfires: Campfires are only permitted in designated fire pits and must be extinguished when the site is
unoccupied. Burning elm or ash, plastics, metal, glass and leftover food that includes bones is not permitted.
6. Firearms: Discharging a firearm or possession of a loaded firearm within 300 metres of any developed
area, including campgrounds is prohibited at all times. Please contact your local district office for any park
specific restrictions.

CAMPGROUND ENVIRONMENT

The permit holder is responsible for the following:
1. Campsite Maintenance: The site must be maintained by the permit holder and kept in a clean
and sanitary condition at all times.
8BTUFXBUFS%JTQPTBM Dispose of wastewater only in dump stations or sewer drains provided.
Disposal of wastewater on the campsite or surrounding areas is not permitted.
(BSCBHF%JTQPTBM Dispose of garbage in refuse containers on a daily basis and keep your site
free of litter at all times to avoid problem wildlife. Garbage must not be stored on site.
4. Recycle: Help to reduce waste by recycling glass, paper and plastic products. Recycling items
should be disposed of daily and must not be stored on site.

Dispose of matches and cigarettes in the firepit.
5BLFDBSFPGUIFUSFFT Damaged trees are more likely to be destroyed by fungus or disease.
Please do not strip bark, use nails or attach wire on trees or shrubs. Ropes around trees are permitted,
but must be removed at end of season.
(MBTT$POUBJOFST Limit the use of glass containers as broken glass can be dangerous to visitors,
staff, pets and wildlife.
8. Firewood: Firewood, where provided, is for campsite permit holders’ use only, and as such,
stockpiling of provided wood on the campsite is not allowed. The removal of wood from a provincial park
and the unauthorized collection of any living or dead vegetation is prohibited in Manitoba provincial parks.
Do not transport firewood. Firewood brought in from out of the province may harbour harmful pests and
carry diseases that will destroy our forests. If you bring your own firewood: buy it locally, burn it locally.

END OF CAMPING SEASON

2. Some campgrounds offer winter storage for camping units. Check with the campground’s district office
for office hours and storage availability. Winter storage is only permitted in designated areas and is only
available for seasonal campers from the current year.

Winter storage permits are sold on a first-come, first served basis and will be available for purchase
at the campground’s district office starting in early June through to the campground’s units off date.

Conditions Of Application And Site Selection
Eligibility and Application:
0OMZ.BOJUPCBSFTJEFOUTBSFFMJHJCMFUPQBSUJDJQBUFJOUIFESBXTGPSTFBTPOBMDBNQTJUFT".BOJUPCBSFTJEFOU
is a citizen of the province whose primary residence is located in Manitoba and who is present at the primary
residence 183 days of the year. Upon request, the applicant must be able to produce a Manitoba Health and
Healthy Living Registration Card or a Manitoba Driver’s Licence as identification to verify residency.
2. Only one application per family permitted. Family is generally defined as parent(s), and their children
under 18 years of age.
Note: "OZPOFGPVOEUPCFTVCNJUUJOHNVMUJQMFBQQMJDBUJPOTVOEFSEJGGFSFOUOBNFTPSNBLJOHBQQMJDBUJPOGPS
site occupants other than themselves will forfeit their site, seasonal camping fees and will be disqualified from

- If a tent is declared on the application, a tent must be used unless proof of trailer/RV purchase and new
registration is provided before siting the unit on the permitted site. The use of another applicant’s
trailer/RV will not be permitted. The use of a tent cannot be listed on a full service site application.
- If a camping unit is not owned at the time of application, proof of tent or trailer/RV purchase and new
registration must be provided before siting the unit. The use of another applicant’s trailer/RV will not
be permitted.

4. The application must be accompanied with full payment by the required deadline. Incomplete applications,
applications without the required payment and/or paperwork, and applications received after the deadline
established in this and other public notices of the draws will not be accepted.

5. Payment options for all draw applicants include: certified cheque, bank draft, money order (made payable to
the Minister of Finance of Manitoba), Visa, and MasterCard. Cash and debit payments are available for walk-in
applicants at 200 Saulteaux Crescent only. Telephone, fax and/or email credit card payments will not be
accepted. Your payment must be for the full amount of the appropriate seasonal camping fee.

6. Should you decide to send your application by mail or by courier and it is not received by the deadline
date specified in this package, it will not be accepted. Consideration will not be given to the postmark
date on the envelope or late courier deliveries.

Unallocated Sites
12. Following the completion of the Winnipeg held site selections, all unallocated sites from the Winnipeg site
selections will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis on the Tuesday following draw week at 200

representative shall be eligible to choose a site.
NOTE for campers entitled to refunds: Refunds will not be issued until all draw records have been
reconciled. It is expected that this reconciliation will be complete by approximately the middle of March.

designated accessible site, no further site accommodation will be made. If an applicant is unsuccessful in
obtaining a designated accessible site, they may withdraw, accept a non-accessible site if available, with no further

Once all eligible applicants for accessible sites make a site selection have been processed in the draw, or when
accessible sites are the very last to be allocated, unallocated accessible sites may then be selected by any
remaining applicants.
Full refunds for withdraw or standby options will be processed two to three weeks after the draws.
