Almighty Father, whose Son was revealed in majesty

Prayers for the World Church
Guyana, in South America, comprises one of the four dioceses (in the West
Indies Province) with which our diocese has a long established link. Its Bishop,
the Rt. Revd. Cornell Moss will be among those attending a Festival in St
Albans Abbey on the Saturday of St Albanstide in June. Let us pray for him
now recovering from a period of illness, and pray for the clergy of the diocese,
for those in training and for those considering vocations, as the Diocese
struggles with a shortage of priests. May they all be much blessed.

choice of soup, one filled roll (ham or cheese) and a piece of fresh fruit (choice)

The material has been prepared by Christian women in The Bahamas. All
welcome to come along to join in this service of praise and prayer celebrated
worldwide. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
7th March 10am-4pm Quiet Day “Connecting with God – Some Different Ways
of Praying both Old and New” at Holy Saviour. Please bring a packed lunch –
Hot and Cold drinks are provided. Please also bring paper and pen / pencil. A

Notices
The pulpit flowers are given today for the glory of God by the Hazelwood
family and in Heartfelt thanks for His many Blessings on them.
Diocesan Lent Challenge This year's challenge is called “Live a Difference”
and addresses some of the issues that underlie some of the debates in the
General Election campaign. All the material is online at
www.livethechallenge.co.uk From there you can download the weekly sheets
of verses and reflections and sign up for daily mails or texts. There are special
weekly sheets for children and families. The first weekly sheets from Ash
Wednesday onwards are already available. I hope you find the material

Weekly Envelope Giving Scheme: the new packs of envelopes will be
available for collection from the back of the Church from the beginning of
March for those who are currently on the list. It would help greatly with the
administration of the Scheme, if you would let me know as soon as possible if
you no longer wish to receive your pack for the year beginning April 2015.

Lent Groups starting 23rd February The process of dealing with responses
is under way. If you haven’t indicated that you would like to attend one of the
18 sessions, there may just be a chance to do so by contacting Helen

This year the groups will be following a York course entitled Praise Him:
Songs of Praise from the New Testament written by Paula Gooder.
After 40 years Jean Green is hanging up her rubber gloves, so we now need
another kind person to take over the washing and starching of the purificator
cloths that are used to wipe the chalices during communion and the one used
to cover the chalices until the vicar is ready to pour the wine. They are soaked
in water after use and need to be collected after the 9.35 service. They can be
returned the following week. If you think that you may be able to help with this
vital service or would like more information please contact Derry on 01462
420665. You do not need to commit to doing it until 2055! Many thanks. Derry

St Mary’s, through its Charitable Giving Group, supports
AquAid Lifeline Fund’s Philip Veale Children’s Centre in
Malawi caring for over 150 orphans in Gomani. AquAid can
provide a whole month’s child care for just £8. Ask Robin
Sternberg  684588 for more details, or look on the Church
House noticeboard.
All communicant members of the Christian Church are welcome
to receive the bread and the wine at a celebration of Holy
Communion. Others are welcome at the altar rail to receive a
blessing. If you wish for a blessing please ask.
For very young churchgoers: Please feel free to be in church
during the services, but if you feel very distressed the choir vestry
(at the back of church) also doubles as the "early years gurgling
room". In there you will find a cabinet of toys. The room has glass
doors so that you and your parents can see and hear services,
but it also has an environment where you can feel at ease to be
yourself and gurgle away.
