8. Course Description
Model building as a foundation for rational decision making and problem solving, linear
and nonlinear programming, network models, queuing analysis, probability and decision
theory, and simulation, computer software applying these techniques in the analysis of a
wide variety of decision problems.
9. Course Objective(s)
After successful completion of this course, students will:
1. Understand the basic concepts of probability and decision theory.
2. Understand the basic concepts of optimization modeling.
3. Understand how statistics and optimizations can be applied to solve business
problems.
