ABOUT OUR COLLEGE
Our college which is a constituent college of
Anna University Chennai is privileged being the
only University College in Dindigul district and also
it serves as a zonal office under Anna University
Chennai as a zone 15, controlling examination for
Engineering college was located in Dindigul, Karur,
&Theni districts. Our campus started with four
departments: Civil Engineering, Electronics and
Communication Engineering, Electrical and
Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
and an attempt to impart technical knowledge in
vernacular, Tamil mediums were introduced in Civil
and Mechanical Engineering later on 2010. In part
with academics the campus also works concerning
various social and environmental issues. The
campus achieved glory in sports front too and is still
on the path of progress.
ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT
The department of Civil Engineering
offered BE (English / Tamil) and part time
courses. In the duration of 2009 – 2013, second
batch students secured first place and received
gold medal among 553 Engineering Colleges in
Tamilnadu and also 10 students secured
University rank in Madurai region.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The
workshop
is
designed
to
demonstrate the relevance and importance of key
construction materials of prefabricated buildings,
practices challenges and directions. This
workshop aims to bring knowledge about
prefabrication in building and the use of
prefabricated concrete in Civil Engineering. The
concept of prefabricated concrete structural
construction was first envisioned during 1920 th
and techniques for improving its capabilities
evolvedover a
period of time to meet the emerging needs of
designers, constructors, owner and all.
Prefabricated concrete structures can be
adopted in many ways to meet a wide variety
design challenges. Since it is an Engineering
Product its properties and techniques must be well
understood in order to maximize its performance.
Prefabricated structures ensure quality, owing to
state of the art modern machines and stringent
manufacturing processes. It is a rapidly making
inroad, into the Indian construction methods
owing to actuate shortage of skilled man power,
land cost become dearer, pressure for time bound
competition etc.
OBJECTIVES:

To create awareness of prefabricated
concrete structures
To meet wide variety of challenges
design of buildings and in construction
industry.
To maximize performance of structures
To ensures quality of structures
To minimize pressure for time bound
construction works
To update the current practices in
prefabricated concrete structures and
code provisions.
