1. What is Science Foundation Provision?
Once you have registered for a science
qualification within the Science Colleges at
UNISA, Science Foundation Provision provides
additional learning support so that you have a
better chance of successfully completing your
programme. The additional support is built into an
extended 1st Level curriculum in which learning in
selected or Foundation Modules is augmented
through special tutorials, additional, non-formal
foundational
assessments,
academic
skill
development and peer mentorship.
2. Your tutorial letter for your specific module will
inform you whether you have been included in the
Science Foundation Provision programme.
3. The programme is not open to all Unisa students.
4. Students who have not been included in
the SFP provision program tutorial classes
may pursue the e-tutoring option.
E-Tutors
All NQF level 5 and 6 students, meaning all 1st and 2nd
level/year students will be provided with an e-Tutor from
2014 to promote student success and student interaction.
