I wonder if Ground Hog day is such a good idea. Everytime that animal is awakened for his forcast,
Mother Nature gets even. The feather bowling outing on 2/4 was a huge success. We had a great
turn out & everyone had a great time! Members are already asking for a repeat outing in the future.
The first & second place teams received a trophy. there were no losers just a lot of runners up. Great
company, good food & drinks. The Exempt is on 3/7/2015 @ DeCarlos' on 10 mile & Mound. Let
us know if we have any canidates. Nominations for officers are coming up in April. Please remember
all our servicemen & women who keep us safe & free.

I want to thank all the members that sent in their
2015 dues and remind everyone else that your membership has
expired December 31, 2014. We still have a number of members who have not sent in their dues. Tell me if you can’t afford
to pay or if you are having some issues in your life right now.
Information is personal and will be kept that way. Your membership is important to us. Due are $43 and we are asking for
volunteer donations for “Take 5” Michigan Charities $5, and or
$12 for the McGivney Chair. If you are a honorary member your
dues are $17.50 and life members are exempted from dues.
At last month’s meeting, nominations were held for the 2015
officers. The nominee’s are as follows, President- Sue Nowakowski, Vice President- Kim Weston, Secretary- Marie
Schwalenberg, Treasurer- Linda Weston, Trustee- Marilyn Malick & Carol Moronczyk. We will be electing our officer’s at the
next meeting on March 10. Please make an effort to attend as
your vote is important. Just a reminder, membership dues
should be paid by April.
The Council’s St. Patty’s Dinner will be held on Saturday,
March 14. Donation is $10. Included is a Traditional Irish dinner from 4pm – 7pm, live entertainment with Jimbo & Bill featuring Classic Rock, Country music & more from 6pm – 8pm,
and DJ and dancing until 10pm. This event sounds like a fun
time and we hope you will attend as your support is greatly appreciated.
As financial secretary, I receive many comments from members or their families. Some are private. Some a member will tell
me to say hi to everyone, and some with sad news. One such is
informing me that Jerry Di Mango has been sick & is need of our
prayers. I welcome comments from any member or family
member to keep us up to speed with our brother knights. Has
anyone visited or talked to John Rossi? Let’s not for get the
brothers who can not stop by the council anymore for one reason
or another. Give a brother a call let that brother know we still
think of him.
Easter Kielbasa making will take place on March 20th and 21st,
order pick-up on the 22nd. We ask that you please place your
order by Wednesday, March 18th.
Did you know that we have a few members that started new
fun events? We have redone our horseshoe pits last summer and
made some improvements to the back yard etc. These men
wanted to continue to enjoy it. So, on the first day of winter, we
played horseshoes. Then the idea was to expand into the council. On January 1st we played horseshoes, shuffleboard and pool.
The fun continued February 8th playing in the parking lot a homemade mini horseshoes, shuffleboard & pool. The plan is to continue to meet the first Sunday of each month. We have a sign up
sheet at the council or just show up about 2 p.m., join or watch
the fun. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
The MI/ Tootsie Roll Drive is Palm Sunday weekend, March
27th, 28th, & 29th. We will need helping hands to host the
kitchen and provide food for the men. I will have a sign-up sheet
for volunteers at our next meeting.
The Kid’s Easter Party is set for April 4th. Our chairperson’s are
Kim Weston and Chris VanHouteghen. We ask that you please
sign-up at the council by Tuesday March 31st.
Remembering in our Prayers, those who have passed, those who
are suffering, those facing hardship, and the men and women in
the military who defend our great country and our freedom.
I have been invited to present the check from the Polish dinner
to MDA at Mussel Walk 2015 on March 28 at Ford Field, anybody want to join me?
