Gruenther, 54, of Frederick
County, Virginia, died
Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015,
in Frederick County.
Tom was born in 1961,
the son of Brigitta Gisela
Gruenther and the late
Donald Alfred Gruenther.
He was a graduate of
Bishop Ireton High School
and Virginia Tech where
he received a Bachelor’s
Degree in Electrical
Engineering.
Tom was a loving
husband, father and friend
to many. He married his
college sweetheart, Peggy
Graham, on July 24, 1982,
in Richmond. He was a
loving father to daughter,
Kristen Gruenther of
Pittsburgh, and son, Max
Gruenther of Richmond.
He will be forever
remembered for his love of
the great outdoors where
he enjoyed countless hours
hiking and enjoying nature.
He will be greatly missed
by all who knew him.
Surviving with his
mother, wife, and children
are his sister, Lucy Maria
Gruenther of Leesburg,
and brothers, George
Gruenther (and Mary Jo)
of Iowa, Raymond
Gruenther (and Beatrice)
of Ohio, Frederick
Gruenther of California,
Peter Gruenther of
Pennsylvania, and Michael
Gruenther of Maryland.
One brother, Ralph
Gruenther, preceded him
in death.
The family will receive
friends on Monday, prior to
the service, from 1-2 p.m.
at Opequon Presbyterian
Church, where Tom was an
active member.
A memorial service will
be conducted at 2 p.m. on
Monday at Opequon
Presbyterian Church with
Reverend David Witt
officiating. Interment will
be private.
