Children/Youth
It is not too late for a family or a
youth to sign up for the Spring
Break Mission trip, March 6—10
to Statesboro, GA! We have three
families going and a handful of
teenagers! We will have a Party in
the Park and come along side
Southbridge Community Church
to reach their neighbors!
Our Family Bible Study starts
Wednesday, February 25th. It you
miss the first one, no problem!
Join us in the Crossing at 6:00
p.m. on Wednesday nights. We
will finish at 6:55 p.m. so you can
be there as the children’s
ministries wrap up! This will be a
6-week study on Forgiveness.
Winterjam is this Thursday,
February 26th, in Tupelo. Anyone
interested in going is welcome to
come. It is $10 to get in the door
plus whatever snacks you want to
buy there. It will be a late night
probably not returning until after
midnight, but guaranteed to be a
great night with the lineup this
year.
Missions
Three specific items of prayer
have come to us over the last
week:
Mosaic Baptist Church in
Brooklyn, NY has dealt with both
frozen then ruptured pipes. Be in
prayer as God uses their flexibility
to reach their community.
Saul Paul and their family are back
in Cambodia. Their oldest child
is struggling with the transition
and they have been asked to move

ministry locations starting in July.
Lift them up as they get
reacclimated to life in Cambodia.
Darrel in Debrecen, Hungary has
been able to teach an Ethics class
at the medical school. He has a
class full of students that we are
praying he can influence with the
truth and love of Christ.
Local Connections
Our Backpacks of Hope continue
to be packed and delivered every
week. Different people have had
the opportunity to pack and pray
over these bags of food. We
continue to show love in very
practical ways to our community!
Our Good News Clubs are having
an amazing impact in the lives of
children in our community. They
are always in need of volunteers,
even if you can’t be there every
week. Let them know you want to
have fun with a child!
Our Cary Trip is this Tuesday,
March 3rd. We will leave at 7:00
a.m. and drive to Cary Christian
Center in the Delta delivering
supplies for their ministry. Join us
for the trip to see the amazing
things they are doing in the name
of Christ. We will enjoy a meal
there and return late that afternoon.
It is casual dress and dutch treat for
lunch.

Pastor’s Perspective
March, 2015
- Rob Paul -
There is so much happening in the month of March! We
have groups going to serve alongside our Acts 1:8 partners
in Cary, Mississippi; Birmingham, Alabama and Statesboro,
Georgia. We will host our first groups of volunteers to
work with Samaritan’s Purse in the ongoing disaster rebuild
project. Later this month we will complete our tenth season
of ministering to the children of our community through
Upward Basketball. And the following week we will host
our semi-annual Lil’ Blessings Consignment sale. March
will be a busy month!
Please continue to pray for our search committee as they
continue the search for our next worship pastor. I have had
the privilege of meeting and praying with them over the last
several weeks, and I want to invite you to join us in some
specific prayer:
Pray for wisdom, discernment and
direction for the committee. Pray that God will prepare the
person he desires to join our staff here at FBC. And pray
for our church family that we will be ready to receive the
person God sends our way.
In the mean time we are happy to welcome Rob Thomas to
lead us in worship. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to
know Rob, his wife Buffy, and their daughter Abby over the
last several weeks. I know that Rob appreciates your words
of encouragement and your participation in worship. Please
continue to lift this family up in prayer as well.
This coming Sunday morning I will continue our Gospel
Centered Life series from Mark’s gospel as we look at a
plan to handle failure. Then, on Sunday night we continue
our Life on the Edge series from Joshua as we look at
courage. Thank you for your prayer and encouragement as
I prepare and proclaim God’s word each week. You are
loved!
