Entry requirements
Mandatory Entry Requirements
Whilst there are no mandatory training package entry requirements for this course, to ensure students have the
best opportunity to succeed in this program, TAFE Queensland South West strongly recommends that prospective
students are existing workers in the primary health care industry and/or have completed a Certificate III in
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
Recommended Entry Requirements
To successfully complete this course within the specified timeframe, it is strongly recommended that students
have completed the Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, or are existing
workers in the industry. By completing the Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health
Care prior to the Certificate IV, students will have the opportunity to build essential skills and knowledge that will
increase their chances of successfully completing the Certificate IV. By completing the Certificate III first,
students will also be reducing the number of units and Vocational Placement hours they will be required to
complete in the 1.5 year Certificate IV duration.
